Thank you everyone for your replies x I didn’t realise there were so many other ways to get from A to B besides the portals in the capital cities and the Hearthstone. I am a very casual player and only now that I’m older I’m really gettinh deep into the game so I’ve got plenty to learn x

Engineering has many teleport toys like wormhole generators, which either lets you choose where to go or it teleports you randomly for the different expansions, there are also ofcourse other teleport things as someone mentioned with pet battles, theres one item from archaeology that randomly teleports, theres the anima toy from torghast which has a chance to give you a random teleport. There are many more things, Personally i prefere this with a lot of toys and other items and so on as it doesnt take you exactly where you want to go, but its good enough. and hearthstone being one of many.

While it would make things easier/more convenient, it also takes away from things like engineering teleports and mage portals.
If anything: I think every character should get a seperate hearthstone to their faction’s capital. There’s loads of portals there, so that would already be a nice change.

Maybe set the Hearthstone toys to different places? I have 10 HS toys. Each of them should be chooseble when you set a hs place and pick one of the toys to be attached to that place.

That’s a good idea. So having these items would be a teleport to specific locations you’ve set them to be, and you have to own the item too ofcourse. I do enjoy there being some extra steps to get something, like having the Jaina teleport item in inventory that lets you teleport to dalaran.

Back in TBC when I was leveling in the Vanilla world my Hearthstone was often set to Menethil Habour. It had boats to North Kalimdor and South Kalimdor and the flight master to Ironforge got you a portal room to other places. And it was quite central in Eastern Kingdom so a flight master to anywhere was ok time wise.
These days most of my alts have their hs in Legion Dalaran. You have a portal to SW in the room next door. A bank just south a little and other convenient facilities around.
Personally I’d rather have a 15 min CD on (all) hearthstones.
Why not use Dalaran Hearthstone for that?

I think it’s better to keep it at one bind, as it is. I like that you have to be carefull what you pick. For other places, we have mages to port us around otherwise, while druids can be selfish and port to multiple locations too.
What would be the benefit? You can heartstone to any capital. Take the portal to Stormwind or Orgrimmar an from there a portal to any expansion.
There is also a ring for the northrend one, and a black temple teleport device too(I forgot what it is, since I have not used it in a while… exalted ring perhaps?). Grim guzzler port and whatever other little porting tokens we have. There is a chance you have had to play for a good while to sit on all these though.
Lloyds beacon is a forgotten fantasy spell, just slap a wow name on it.
Same goes for the other mmogame with big crystals in the center of all cities, just turn it into wow stuff (a bag full of hearthstones for example).
The Inn is right next to the SW portal.
Dalaran HS gives you a second bite of the cherry.
These are alts that are only really running old raids for mounts and mogs.
Gram’s hs is in Dornegal as he is doing stuff there (currently trying to get all the pets and the Umbral Amalgam is elusive and the few I find kill themselves before I can capture them, my little project for the last few days…).
