I think it would be a good idea to perhaps be able to bind to a maximum of, say, three places on a Hearthstone. Do you think that would be a good QoL feature and if not, why not? I’d like to hear your thoughts on this
I’ll “improve” the suggestion in both a positive and a massively negative way. We should be allowed to teleport without limitation to any Inn in the game. However, doing so when the “Hearthstone cooldown” is not ready incurs a gold cost equal to character_level x 10g.
So you could teleport wherever and whenever you want, but not having a HS charge ready means it’s not free and it’s not negligible (for the average player or the player that teleports all the time). This change not only gives players the QoL of not being limited by a HS charge and bound location, it also does not diminish the utility of Mage teleportation and portal spells, it doesn’t diminish the utility of Shaman’s Astral Recall spell, and it gives additional value to the new Human racial of 2 HS charges.
As always, QoL changes should not be “You get this for free”. It should be “You are now allowed to bypass limitations that exist to boost and enhance interactions with the world, but we don’t want it to be optimal”.
There should be 2 and no more than 2.
1 to take you to the Capital City of the current expansion. Maybe a Dalaran HS which updates on release of every expansion.
1 to set to where ever you would like to be set.
If you need more, just play Mage.
How about the garrison stone and shipyard stone and vulp tent? your logic seems flawed and yet again here you are telling others how to play the game.
i like this idea.
Not a hearth stone. It’s a racial ability. Just like Mage Portals are a class ability, and Ancestral Guidance is a Shaman ability.
The only flaw I can see is your own.
I’m not telling people how to play the game. I’m purely making a suggestion to support OP’s post, but putting my own limitations on what should be required.
Maybe you should leave me alone if you don’t agree with me.
I am allowed a view but you seem hellbent on telling others how to play.
Personally I’d have every race have hearthstone to their captial city (in or near their portal rooms, this would mean have some portals back in those cities - even if it only went to SW / Org).
Humans would be Stormwind and Orcs Orgrimar.
Dwarves would be Ironforge (don’t think there are any portals there, but there should be at least one to Stormwind but maybe more). Taurens would be Thunder Bluff.
From the SW portal room you can get about quite easily.
wait a minute,iv seen this before.
Yeh, it’s not really hard to work your way around the expansions.
But it would be nice to have a separate stone which can be used to get you to a set location of your choosing. And then have away to get back to the a relevant city hub.
I have hearthstone, Old Dalaron hearthstone, plus portal room, plus portals all over the game. Quite enough for me.
Plus there is your garrison HS, which you really don’t need to do much to get set up. Then there is the portal in the M+ building that takes you to the other portals.
I mean, what you speak aginst>?
we can travers limitless coninets per potals, ahbing for reamning short distances rflightmaster or ouw onw mount.
I t woud shoten tarvel distsance a bit more as it it but woudn be that weight, acutly woud have been a better replacment for the rep racial fopr umans as a second loand for the heartsone which is now.
yeah, i mean, FF14 have this with fast travel (which is also instalty but cost gill)
yeah he seems to like to do it
looks at my bazillion portals, teleports and whatnot through items and toys
I wouldnt mind 1 more actually. I always wanted a hearthstone to ehm… whichever raid I want to farm right now (make it a toy so I can bind my entire account to it thanks)
May as well just have the Waypoint feature from Diablo.
It accomplishes the same as all the portals and teleports and hearthstones in World of Warcraft does, but in a simpler and more approachable manner.
And World of Warcraft is going the way of Diablo already, so may as well copy one of the design features that actually work really well in Diablo.
But at the same time, then World of Warcraft does like all the little story and immersion facets tied to its various gadgets, like the hearthstone. And it’s pretty core to the hearthstone that it’s tied to a single place. Home. Wherever that is.
And then we also have a ring to Dalaran (Northrend), a ring to Boralus / Zandalar, a ring to Karazhan, an item from Tortollans to take us to Stormsong, the teleportations unlocked from Pet Battles in Dalaran (Broken Isles)…
