How many mounts can you actually get in wow rn?
Ones that are still obtainable rather than ones that have been removed
like i saw the 500 mounts achievement but how many ppl have that
It really does vary, I’ve been playing since pre TBC and I never was a achivment hunter or mount person myself and I’m sitting at a sad 213 mounts but it is very plausible for you to get that 500 mount achivement it wouldn’t exist otherwise 
I’m currently just begining on that journey myself so lots of content to do on downtime of expansions!
Lots of people will be on 500 mounts…I have nearly 450 and I’m not much of a farmer at all.
In fact I bet there are people out there waiting for the 600 and 700 mount reward!
There isnt that much of people with 500+ mounts, but if u dedicate enough time to it, then it is possible , especialy with DF adding new ones .
There is like 700+ mounts ingame ( obtainable aka non removed sources) i would say that non rng mounts coming from raids and dungeons ,which might take days or years , will be more than half of those, so 500 isnt realy imposible, its just realy realy time consuming .
Ive recently hit 250 without even trying to farm them , so if u feel like having lots of time and nerves go ahead
I’ve seen people complaining that there are not enough tiers of the collectors achievements… 
~4% of Wowhead users, as I understand it. Somewhat less for non-Wowhead users, I would think.
4% have the Horde version, and 4% have the Alliance version, but I’m assuming anyone with 500 mounts has both Alliance and Horde characters, so they’re the same 4%

These type of achievements are forward looking, not something you can necessarily do when it’s put in the game.
I actually looked at the current mounts in the game as I was looking at it myself its actually doable!
839 total mounts . 577 non-exclusive mounts. Just takes loads of time
up to 600 it isnt hard to get and since they add ~100 with exp it will be even easier,imo they should also add 600,700 and 800 achievs,500 is kinda joke
I’m close to earning the 500 mount achievement but I’m really not impressed with the reward at all so when I do get it it’ll never be used.
Next month it will be exactly a year how I joined to retail WoW. I really like to collect transmogs, mounts,questing and hunt the achievements. I am sitting at 445 mounts, but I don’t raid (sometimes LFR for transmogs) and I was doing Mythic+ dungeons when my friends were playing, now not. So not sure how irrelevant it is since that’s my main thing I do when I am online. I just really enjoy in solo play and exploring the world

Yes, you’re not a collector, but you’ve been playing the game for how many years? If you’re a brand new player, how long do you think it’ll take them to get 500 mounts
Exactly I’m on 660 according to Simplearmory (659 because the Otter from 500 mounts is not yet added), and will for sure hit 700+ in DF. 
I have the 500 achievement, with quite a lot of easily obtainable mounts not collected. With the odd break here or there I’ve been around since vanilla so they have been gained gradually over time.
I got 128 just by playing the game , i never aimed for collecting , got this account since Cata expac .
