Teldrassil, Drustvar and Stormpeaks.

Fantastic stories in the latter two… the first one(Teldrassil) leaves more up to imagination, but have an amazing ability to wake my curiosity. Ashenvale was the same.

Frostfire Ridge & Talador for the music alone.

Mechanically speaking, I’d have to say Pandaria; it sets you up with relevant gear for all slots. Weapons, armour, trinkets, jewelry, all good for your class and specialization.

But for ambience, story and overall feel it’s hard to beat the race-spesific areas I’d say. I prefer the Eastern Kingdom races mostly, so naturally that’s also my favourite zones. Nothing beats the original Tirisfal Glades for me, though it’s still decent after Cataclysm.

The Legion zones with Xal’atath whispering sweet nothings into my mind

Having done all expansions, there are lots of fond memories for both Ali/Horde areas - picking 3 only, going with

Teldrassil - very 1st char, soft spot
Nagrand - loved the floating rocks and wanted my grave on one of them
Pandaria areas - had such a blast over that time

Drustvar is my favourite.

The floating islands are awesome and that Nagrand is one of the prettiest zones in the game.

Icecrown is definitely best zone in World of Warcraft! You unlock different places and it was awesome! I expected it would happen in Thaldraszus too, but it didnt!

Honestly I miss creepy zones like Duskwood, Feelwood or even Silverpine Forest. Lately it feels like they are making the game for 8yd ppl :frowning: Everything is so peaceful and cartoonish, and be honest most of the players are adults. But they can make a good dark zone like they show us with Drustvar which is amazing.

My most favourite I think are Eversong Woods, and Winterspring.
Drustvar, and Feralas are great also, and as the cherry on the top is Lakeshire village in Redridge Mountains even if I play Horde <3

There are zones I’ve done enough time to wonder if I like them or do I just like doing repetitive things.

Teldrassil, Ashenvale, Elwynn, Westfall, Stranglethorn, New Tinkertown, Lost Isles, uncorrupted Shadowmoon Valley, Val’sharah, Thaldraszus.

Reviewing this list it seems like I mostly lean into forests and jungles over plains, deserts or snow and ice fields.

I’m right there with ya, I miss the same things. I thought Revendreth was quite fun, just didn’t have that mood of ole Duskwood. A properly scary place by the way, because the background music was the actual find-your-body theme and when you died to an unreasonably strong spider or wolf you had to walk across the entire zone to find it.

Number one will always be Ashenvale for me, so serene and peaceful there and the music is the best in the game.

Un Goro Crater, just a good fun area with lots to do and was a great place for levelling.

Searing Gorge for the same reasons as Un Goro.

Yeah I really liked the ambience and the crystals in Un’Goro. The place just stuck with me.

It was also a dangerous place, you could easily lose your life there if not careful, same up the road in Silithus. Doesn’t seem to be anywhere like them in the game any more, where the non elites were naughty, especially if you aggro’d a few. Always made the game more interesting.

Yes, if the overworld was a little more dangerous I think the zones these days would be more memorable and you might even want to find someone else to do them with, which would restore the old multiplayer identity wow used to thrive on.

The starting zone of the Forsakens, Tirisfal Glade. All the leveling to Gilneas, is so good.

Barrens, the original version (or Northern Barrens since Cata). It just has that nostalgic vibe for me (I started as a Tauren character). But in general, Kalimdor is my favorite continent for leveling.

The DK starter area too. Usually I’m not a huge fan of forced quest chains but that one is just too epic and classic.

Storm Peaks and Drustvar
One had the feeling of venturing outside of WoW and into Norse mythology.
The other had a haunting adventure with superstition and witchcraft.
