The story itself is AMAZING, but it is so short that it sucks.
The main story quests are super interesting but there are so very few of them, while there are like 25 side quests stories per zone and almost all of them are 2 sets of kill & pick up quests and then go kill the mini boss in the area.
It sucks.
I had such high hopes after DF and I’m really not enjoying tWW’s leveling experience.
Blizz said a couple of years ago they’re gonna move away from general kill & pick up quests, what happened to that statement?
I should mention, there are some AMAZING side quests out there, won’t give any spoilers, but some in Hollowfall are my favorites.
Unfortunately, they get overshadowed by the sheer number of boring, generic & outdated kill & pickup quests.
Really did feel short, I heard it was shorter so I spent time reading all of the dialogue, stay a while and listens, finished all of the side quests in the Isle of Dorn (working on the rest). It took me less than 24 hours to finish the main story quests + Isle of Dorn side quests.
But on the bright side, I did enjoy the questing experience. Been a while since I bothered reading dialogue in all honesty, that only started to change in Dragonflight and now The War Within.
I think the technical structure was interesting and well thought out, if you insist on imposing a mandatory levelling campaign.
We have a good use of Follower Dungeons and Delves being integrated,
We have the frequent “Stay a while and listen” options to get conversations between the character - and I stress “options”, since many will not want them
The story moves pretty briskly through the zones, and seems to hit the highlights and give a good overall picture.
While I can see that you might be disappointed that it was cut short if you were enjoying it, allowing some space for other levelling activities helps people who want to do other things, like dungeons, gathering, BGs, and just wandering around killing stuff. Personally, I prefer that to the SL/DF philosophy of making all other other activities a waste of time and active hindrance.
I acknowledge the improvement in technique even though I would like to see linear, rigid levelling campaigns destroyed utterly. I want to go back to the days when you had the freedon to level any way you want. These mandatory campaigns are somewhet in my Top Twenty Horrible Decisions Blizzard have made in the last few expansions.
Also, while I acknowledge the improvements in quest design, I really have nothing else good to say about the levelling experience or the world so far in KA.
