Hello there fellow adventurers! I came back to WoW after many years for Vanilla flavours but these queues are so high in the evening so I decided to play BfA while waiting. These are much simpler times imo, classes look pretty simple to play compared to the first expansions. What class is the hardest(or among the hardest), kept his fantasty and is fun to play? I am already on a spamming Frost Bolt rotation on Classic so I will not mind a harder class haha. Thanks you in advance, friends! See you in Azeroth!

Absolutely the opposite. You might argue wow has lost some RP elements, things got faster an shinier as much as you want. But most classes are harder now than they were in classic. (but much less hard than they were, let’s say in MoP)
I don’t know which one is the hardest but I feel like I see a lot of really bad warlocks and few very good ones. So I guess warlock might be hard to master. I don’t play one myself though so it’s just a wild guess.
Deathknight can be pretty engaging and minmaxing damage in a raid can be a challenge sometimes.
Outside of raids (not LFR) or mythic+ (or pvp if you’re into that), you’re a one-man army starting at Level 1 with every class these days so you won’t find any difficult game play. So it’s a bit of a shift of difficulty. Everything will be easy in the open world and you’ll do well without a deep understanding of your class. Not in higher end, end-game group content though.

On case you didn’t know yet, logging onto BfA will kick you out of the queue on Classic. 
For the class, you could do a Class Trial to see what you enjoy. You can select it at the top of the screen at Character Creation.

Classes are super simplified in BfA and have very basic rotation, the specs I am finding more interesting to play are Prot warr and paladin, with more button than the usual 3.
If you mean hardest to quest with but fun. Fire Mage, Shadow Priest. Also specs with more control are easier but more fun really like rogues and frost mage.

I don’t think that there were times when playing some class in PVE was harder than it’s now. 4 buttons to press in your rotation instead of 3 doesn’t make this game harder. If you want to play a “hard mode” class in PVE then just play for any class that can tank. Tanking is harder and stressful than doing damage while looking at numbers in the recount.
Monk tank is among the hardest and is fun to play. Paladin tank is fun to play and in some ways, it’s hard to play because you have so many tools. Playing DPS is always easy and in Vanilla it was even easier.
Believe it or not, there are actually classes in BFA that are complicated to play. Feral Druids come to mind for example. However, Feral Druids are not very satisfying because you don’t reap much reward compared to simpler classes.
Btw OP, you sadly can’t play BFA and queue for Classic at the same time unless you are using two accounts. Assuming you genuinely did not know that, I would suggest you wait in the queue and play a different game to avoid getting booted.

If you want hard…there is no other answer than disc priest on m10 ( or heavens forbid higher)

Hmm… Sorry wtf ? Paladin and warriors are not at all the ones I’d call “complexe” in WoW.
Mages (fire excluded), Demo (in pvp), rogues (depending on a lots of things), shaman… Those classes are complexe, war, pal, hunters, that’s definitely the ones I’d call stupid actually.

Heh, I hear this! I once did a M10 with a disc priest as a Guardian druid in Season 2. I felt super bad for them, but they played really well!

Today’s classes are just a shadow of what they once were, mages and warlocks no longer have mana management and lost most of their abilities
Lol, with dk in theory it should be the easiest for a disc.
Because dk’s self heal means the disc has one less variable to deal with while tediously topping the grp through atonement.
Such variables, where one or two ppl urgently need spot healing is really in my limited experience the crossroad after which things can spiral out of control very easily.
Tell that to arcane mages

Disc priest does 55k+ dps right now, they don’t struggle with anything.
Spellbars are still full tho
Leveling wise i’d say Enh shaman is harder than most classes. Your self heal is pretty weak, no real dmg mitigation and your kit rewards you for taking multiple mobs at once which paired with the above weaknesses means you can actually die without CDs if you overpull. You do have a pretty good dps while leveling tho compared to other classes.
Class changed a lot though, with only a few totems and weapons enchant like flametongue will deal more dmg but at the same time only last 15sec. Windfury is a passive tho.

I hope that they find a way to lift this restriction. Would be nice if we could get our dailies done in BFA while waiting in a queue 
There are probably technical reasons related to how the auth servers function, but still.
