What can be done about M+ queue simulator?

Tell that to every gambling design ever made then. I say it again, whole wow end game is designed to make you hooked. But by all means advocate for something which youre not happy about, nothing wrong about that.

Frustration usually happens in high risk competitive games or other games with challenging elements when something is lost, thats when the frustration is natural to happen in the setting youre in. If there is no frustration then there is also no “big win” either.

I’ve played only pvp since vanil and some competitions in other games, frustration and stress is part of my everyday state, so Idk I see it as normal when there is rating or competition involved :joy:

In one way or the other, yes. WoW revolves more and more around FOMO as it evolves which drives me personally away from the game.

Obviously but I also observe that my friends keep quitting WoW over this reason. There are ALWAYS just 2 reasons why they quit in a season.

A) BAD gearing system (Vault) and B) Key Depletion causing us to re-run keys that don’t give us anything over and over again just to try again.

It’s really not addicting, it’s the opposite.

I’d agree with you if it would cause my friends to try harder and harder and more and more but it does the exact opposite - it drives them away and they stop playing before the season comes to an and every single time.
I haven’t played a single season in which the people I know haven’t stopped playing due to those 2 reasons before a single season even ends.

Tbf this is obviously quite anecdotal and I do agree that the depletion mechanic probably makes sense in the 2 to 10 key range but beyond that, I think it’s a failed concept.

On a side note - I wonder why they didn’t implement depletion in Delves, if it actually makes players play more/longer.

Oh well, ppl keep quitting wow cause over 30min long ques for random yolo gameplay in shuffles currently aswell. Lots of bad decisions and designs in general. Tbh I’m happy if PvP is not only content suffering of something.

I know a lot high end players advocate removal of deplete mechanic in keys, but will blizz listen them Idk. They have not listen anyone related pvp either so far. Cheers if you get your wish though, you can have my vote.

I also usually only play PvP games and have been playing PvP in WoW quite a lot (mainly even) until Shadowlands which just kinda ruined WoW PvP for me, so I’m used to it too but the thing is that PvP works differently.

After you’ve lost 50 rating, you can get those 50 rating back. So re-queuing after a losing-streak does give you something - the rating you’ve lost.

Re-running a 15, when I already have all 15s, doesn’t do anything for me. Especially since it’s RNG whether I get the key for the dungeon I need or not.

Which is fair. I cba to wait for 30 minutes to play a game when I’m a working adult.

They usually only listen to stonks and statistics, not to what would make this game actually better, unfortunately. Ironically a better games does not necessarily equal longer concurrent subscriptions.

Oh, I know… I’ve been coping for years and years until I gave up…

I think the idea what those big boys had was that there would be no depletion on low keys, its bit meh mechanic anyway. I remember it sucked when did keys with lfg in bfa, if youre key dies you would just drop it for the rest of week and play others keys.

while i do agree the pvp queue is an issue, its a less obvious issue to fix.
its only player behavior driven.

the m+ scene is system problem driven mainly, and then player behavior secondary.

Yeah, so they decided to make it less bad and don’t brick your entire key anymore, just make it -1.

Still sucks though.

But to stay on point with this topic the op need minmax the role in demand if they want to optimize their time, I also heal shuffle for that reason cause I cba wait 30min as dps.

I don’t play World of Warcraft as often as I use to, not that good at solving problems either.

So maybe someone can help me out.

Last I checked, I think my item level was like 713, which is way higher than what is required for Heroic dungeons.

I usually do the world quest for Heroic dungeons for the rep.

I often get into groups with DPS that barely meet the requirements for Heroics.

The ratio between tanks/healers and DPS didn’t change, comma, however, what did change was the queue times.

In M+, it’s a 20-minute wait; for Heroics, it’s a 5-6-minute wait.

Why is that?

I’m not that smart, I just can’t seem to figure it out.

If the ratio between tanks/healers and DPS is the same, shouldn’t the queue time also be?

Because the ratio is not the same.
Heroics are incredibly easy content and a lot of DPS players sign up for as a tank or healer because they hope for faster queue times and maybe want to get the satchel.
Content is easier, you basically can’t f* up and you don’t need a route.

In M+ however, you have way more responsibility as a tank thus less people want to tank it.
It requires more knowledge, carries more responsibility and also requires more effort.

In Heroics, absolutely nothing matters, you can just zug zug through without having to use more than 4 brain cells, thus people are more willing to take on other roles than DPS.

Plus less DPS queue for Heroics because… why would they? Normal and Heroic dungeons are mostly dead content 1 to 2 weeks after addon release. Nobody needs anything from those dungeons.
Even Delves provide better and faster gearing.

TWW S2 was the best for me in TWW, S1 I quit because it was so awful. S3 is ok too, but it feels like they needed to change the whole dungeon rotation to keep it interesting. Presumably they didn’t want to put much effort in, because they were developing Legion Remix and still developing and testing Midnight.

Because for M+ tanking you need a phd. For heroic tanking you can yolo.

They don’t need to be dumbed down. Dungeons/mechanics need to be tuned in a way to ease some pressure for them. Stuff like Mythic Dungeon Tools to plan routes (or to be able to see the mob layout at all) should be default things, not external addons.

Oh, okay, that makes sense.

To conflate means to combine.

In terms of level of importance, the success rate and getting one’s foot in the door.

Why would the success rate (as a tank) be just as, if not more important when for the past 20 minutes, on my main (DPS), I wasn’t able to get into the dungeon?

Inherent in me not playing my main (DPS) is it (the success rate) not being as important as getting my foot in the door.

Right?

I could be wrong, I’m not a Pro player.

If one requires a PhD and the other doesn’t, why are the queue times for all tanks the same?

In terms of getting invited to the group.

Wouldn’t there be some type of barrier to entry?

Just asking questions, not sure how this all works.

You can make a list of people you group with and would like to group again with
maybe start a community or something

There are no answers unique to any one type or other type of player, there is only one real solution in the current system as is and it doesn’t care wether you consider yourself a solo player or not. If this problem was a person and you’d say ‘but I’m a solo player!’ it would congratiolate you and shake your hand but thats it.

Its to start listing players you enjoyed playing with and approaching them directly rather then through the tool that simulates a queue.

Why do you think every tank gets invited the same amount? We definitely see in a lot of seasons a large preference for 1 or 2 certain tank specs.

I was told tanks get accepted instantly for M+, and that’s why I should queue up as one.

Are you saying that was a lie?

Just wait to do your keys on your tank and healer until end of the week, get declined each time on your dps that is fine, i guess you do not want me to play tank and healer until i am done on my DPS for my vault.

Custom group finder works only usually on reset because that is when all the tanks and healers are many, and the dps from previous week gave up trying to get into a group and are on their tank and healer alts for reset.

Everyone knows the higher you get the more meta is getting into play. Allthough for tanks and healers that issue will come way later than for dps.

Oh, so it was a lie, I had a feeling that it was, glad that’s sorted.
