Fury Warriors are one of the most gear-dependent specs and one of the hardest classes to level and gear up. Despite this, they have recently been nerfed significantly, primarily to prevent them from critting hard in PvP. However, Fury Warriors already have minimal viability in competitive PvP and suffer from having the worst burst cooldowns in the game.
These nerfs have also impacted their PvE performance, removing them from the top DPS spots for multiple expansions. Fury Warriors will struggle at the beginning due to their lack of gear, and even if they manage to gear up after being bullied by other players and forced to switch to Arms, they will still perform poorly, even with (BiS) gear.
Meanwhile, Rogues with their superior PvP abilities and cooldown refresh mechanics will outperform Fury Warriors in both PvP and PvE. Blizzard needs to reconsider this approach. Reducing Fury Warriors’ mastery to a base of 2 to address overtuned crits in PvP is a lazy solution and has negatively affected their overall gameplay experience.
There has to be one bottom tier spec. And as a dedicated fury player, I am also not happy about this after having such a hard time as a fury in early wotlk too. But at least, arms is very viable now so we don’t have both dps specs at the bottom. If your guild is not going meta, they shouldn’t care aynway, as long as you play the mechanics clean. But if you want to see good numbers, there is no other choice than playing arms (or unholy dk lel, they have been spoiled all the time).
Pretty certain it’s only the first raid tier where Fury falls short, just play arms until then? It feels really good, that or maybe frost DK, they’re in a similar boat though where they get better in the later raids.
Just spec Arms, Fury is trash always was. The way they designed it in wrath and their rotation if there was any rotation was horrible, also the heroic strike cd was a terrible, they have it more feedback now.
Arms feels more direct now and has a proper rotation. Also I like bladestorm more now gives it more like a berserker feel then the boring whirlwind spam.
Just give Arms the possibility to wear 2x 2Handers and delete Fury its a waste of Spec tbh.
Exactly, this is the issue. Why force players to play something they don’t like? Arms is for beginners, and I’m tired of it. I’m not the only one who feels this way. There should be balance. If Blizzard wants Arms to be the dominant PvP spec for warriors in all expansions, why should it take Fury’s PvE DPS spot too? This is not balanced.
Sorry, but your opinion doesn’t just sound silly; it’s also not very helpful. Arms is for beginners and is designed to be the main PvP spec for warriors. Fury is very disadvantaged in PvP, and now you want to tell all Fury enthusiasts that their hard grind and effort to gear a Fury warrior should just be rerolled to Arms? And to play mechanics that are literally made for beginners to just slam down enemies?
Let me tell you a fact about all the best warriors out there: they play Fury in PvP as much as they can to enjoy real skill performance because it’s so hard and more fun to play Fury in PvP. The same heroes are Frost death knights going PVP even it’s not builded best for it as unholy, it’s so much more fun and flexibile with insane strike oportunity in such a small window. Pro PVP warriors main Arms just because ladder, it’s obviously built for PvP, and you have to admit that there are classes like Rogues or Mages that are literally gods of PvP. This isn’t just thanks to their extreme CC power but also because even if these godlike classes make a mistake and are close to dying, they both have a refresh of their main advantages and can simply start over. Hunters have something similar too.
I’ve been experienced in PvP since 2010. Trust me, you should try rerolling to Fury and try some real Burst Power.
btw we get nerfed PvE content so even if fury dps sucks (no idea if thats true, people like to complain as soon as their spec isnt in the top3) you will find a raidspot, dont worry
I’m not sure if you’re suggesting I should just accept the situation and keep playing, even if it’s not good? Or are you noticing that Fury warriors are overshadowed by Arms warriors? It’s frustrating for all of us who play Fury. Arms is doing well in both PvP and PvE now, while Fury is struggling because of a big nerf in both realms. This keeps us behind most of the time, from the start to the end of the expansion.
So, why bother with Titan’s Grip and all the grind anymore? Okay, we might suck in PvE, but what’s our reason to play? Do we get some PvP boost? Why not, we are doomed there too. Maybe Blizzard should give Heroic Fury a cooldown refresh ability or provide more ways for us to survive? It’s crucial to remember that relying solely on big bursts of damage isn’t that easy when you have no other advantages and you can be controlled or enemies can just escape. Paladins have unfair immunities that last longer than the duration of my health bar under the effect of shield wall in a duel with paladins. Their crazy heals triggered by just about anything, with almost the same burst potential as Fury. From now on, Fury warriors are trash even in their main PvE domain…
Yes, if you enjoy playing fury you should do it. Its a game for you afterall, isnt it? You dont get paid to be highest dps in raids, you dont get paid for arena boosts in PvP, so why dont you just play whatever you enjoy?
Again in PvE even furys will find raidspots (cata is the first expansion in which doing mechanics right gets more and more important rather than just doing pure dps) and in PvP you can still pop off in bgs and casually cap conquest in lowrated arenas (I assume you dont rly care about getting high rating because fury will never be a solid arena spec, even with tons of buffs).
I’m a paying customer, investing a lot of time and effort into the game, especially with the gear grind. So why shouldn’t this issue be properly addressed by the developers? Are you some lazy programmer in disguise, trying to brush me off and say “it is what it is”? It’s just a program, and mistakes like this one should be fixed.
What I’m doing is giving serious feedback about a nerf that isn’t working properly. If you imbalance the game and ruin a spec, what’s the point of playing it? Do you understand that the enjoyment of playing Fury comes from the gear grind, and the power you finally achieve at the end of the expansion thanks to titans grip? They took it away with poor as solution of flat nerf of mastery.
