I fancy myself as a long time wow player, how could I not, I played since vanilla (even if this account doesn’t reflect that). Played a monstrous ammount in TBC & WotLK.
But, if I stop pretending, the reality is I haven’t played that much wow. I quit in Cata, I just did every zone quest and dind’t even attempt raiding. I don’t think I’ve even done every Cata dungeon during Cata.
And I’ve only really touched other expansions. Didn’t progress the story much besides zone quests. I farmed some old content stuff, did some RP, wasted time.
And today, while collecting candy from all the inkeepers I get to Uldum, and to my surprise, I see a bronze dragon offering me to change timeline.
WHAT?
When did this happen, what is this? What content is this? Where does this start? Is there a storyline here? From what expansion? Or was it just a prepatch thing and never used again?
EDIT: Okay, killed an elite, dropped azerite. I THINK I KNOW THE EXPANSION /s

Sure, I used to farm Arathi and Darkshore for those 7th legion coins for the moon priestess mount. Since there’s rares in this area, I guess there’s also more to the zone. Quests? Currency? Vendor?
I immagine I’d have to continue the main quest line to get there, that’s not the issue, but what does the zone provide? The two I mentioned I’d list:
Uldum and Vale (mop) were weekly grind activities. There is currency you can farm to do visions of n’zoth instances that were used to upgrade legendary cape.
You can get few mounts and backpack mog as well, but grind is heavy.
The questline starts with “An unwelcome visitor” in Boralus and unlocks a whole bunch of stuff, 2 reputations grinds, 4 sub-questlines in Uldum and Vale (alternating weekly), the Horrific Vision challenge (really fun if you ask me) and of course the legendary cloak that you need for the Ny’alotha raid’s final bosses.
Uldum has now two timelines that you can switch between, Cata and BFA. BFA timeline is dynamic, it alternates between N’zoth invasion and two other events.
