What classes are currently "Fun" to play?

Hey.

I enjoy my hunter very much both in BM and MM, when i had that character to 412 ilvl i tried playing a Unholy DK.

But that class is utterly exhausting to play, Or maybe it’s just that melee is annoying with all the stuff going on on the ground in M+.

Wondering if any one can recommend more fun clases that are more like BM hunter and less like unholy dk

I mean, BM Hunter is basically a melee DPS with a range of 40 metres. None of the other classes will allow you the freedom of movement and positioning a BM Hunter has. If you choose a melee class you’re going to have to navigate the melee killzone. If you go with another ranged class you will need to think about positioning, as all other classes have cast times.

For me, the most fun class this expansion has to be Monk. I can heal, I can tank and if I weren’t as useless I could DPS as well. The overall gameplay feels refreshingly different from other classes. Brewmaster also feels like it has a large amount of skill expression rather than just being “good” as a baseline. It might not be as powerful as other tanks, but when you start finding out how to manage Stagger, Brews and your offensive/defensive buffs it’ll be a huge push forward for your survivability. I find the spec very satisfying to play at least.

Also, Monk is super rare, so you definitely won’t be “just another basic Warrior/Paladin”. On the other hand, it’s far from being a meta pick, so it does come with some downsides attached

Considering BM hunter uses 3 buttons and you can watch netflix whilst playing it, take your pick.

Yeah, hurts me as well.

Dk has been my main for almost all expansions.

But now in Dragonflight there’s just too many buttons and too many dots and resources to keep track of, I think i have like 5 dps Cooldowns and trinket…

Or it is just because of as i said in the post, being in melee is just a clusterword of Visual noise

I’m told ret paladin supposedly feels really good.

No classes are fun trully fun to play atm. You will get bored by anything you play in a few days because all the classes feel similar one to another.

The only way you can have fun now is if you enjoy playing a toxic broken class in pvp. If that’s the case go bm hunter or retri paladin or even warlock. 2-3 buttons god tier classes. To be fair, you need around 5 buttons for the lock. Faceroll your way into retail amazing pvp fun! Enjoy

I don’t PvP.

I’d say try frost but that tracks a few buffs as well + the oblit window in dnd is clunky (for me anyway. Not played it much). Uh has a lot of buttons but ones you actively use aren’t that bad :pinched_fingers:

From my opinion currently fun to play are Warlock, Paladin and Deathknight.

No idea about pvp, but “World Content” and dungeons are extremely fun as ret paladin.

For pvp arms war is my go to.

Not rly true. You have many who stick to one class for years.

The amount of fotm rerollers who hard hit a wall at 1600 and screech that everyone else is the problem kinda proves otherwise.

Sounds like maybe the problem is u dont like tbe game more then any of these reasons  which is fine ofcourse but maybe look for a different game

i guess you want an easy one, i’d recommend retri, it’s strong with new rework and has a few buttons that you need to press , nothing complex. also frost mage is pretty simple too but i don’t think it’s fun atm.

Devastation evoker is surprisingly fun to play for a caster. And for melee my own personal favorite is survival hunter.

I find all healers pretty fun to play in DF, except for holy paladin. No idea about dps, I always get bored of them pretty quickly.

Go sv hunter. Most fun spec you can find in this game.

What I’m sensing is limited buttons and still reasonable output? That’s not a criticism, I think a lot of specs are mechanically heavy and I’m gravitating to a couple that are simpler for next season because I struggle to keep up with watching timers and looking into the future. That is truly hard work.

It’s not meta, but devastation evoker isn’t too hard to play. It’s legit got like 5-6 main buttons plus one cooldown. The skill floor to make it do “ok” isn’t very high, so you can get into it quite easily, but making it shine requires an understanding of the interactions between those buttons and planning and positioning to pull off the maximum dragonrage uptime. Even then, it tends to be at best average in higher content when you’re grouped with good players.

In healer space (which I know more about), again evoker, but also resto shaman and possibly holy priest. All three can get you by with a limited number of buttons up until about ilvl 400-405, doing 15-16 keys. After that you’ll need to invest time and research on their other buttons and interactions and combos.

On the whole it really depends on your end goal and where you want to go with it. If you really want to be pugging 20+ keys next season, you have to roll a meta class (just for the queue) and you have to learn it. If you either have a good social crowd to run with, or you’re happy below 20s, you can absolutely pick one of the least bloated specs and play it in its simplest format.

Arcane mage is pretty fun.

4 buttons kek, dont insult us.

I am also in a quest to figure that out.
Right now I am using the Timewalking to level all my 60s to 70 while doing dungeons.
I am using that time to see how fun they feel, especially in heal/tank specs.

So far, shamans, paladins and warriors seem a cut over the rest.
