Not any skill requirement to beat rogue in vanilla as hunter, spec properly and you can do it in melee even, if they have thistle tea etc it gets slightly harder but still favours hunter alot.

Hunter. Since I rolled huntard as my first character in vanilla, so obviously =)
Might run around as warrior alt too at times, when possible.
