Just a quick one. As the title says, what class/spec can carry the hardest in 2v2 rated arena?
With the decline of LFG players I want a class where I can exist independently. Something where I can pre-kite, or stop go’s consistently throughout a game while also not relying on my partner to consistently land damage (See Fire Mage, Ret ect).
I was thinking WW, their burst doesn’t require great audience participation and they can pre-kite every go outside of healer cds. They can only really die during stuns, which is something that can be predicted with good awareness. I have a bit of xp on WW so wouldn’t take too long to get at a point where I’m comfortable at it again.
Feral is another one, especially Necro. Just a matter of living and eventually you’ll win. You can prebear/prekite every go, and their healing is pretty nutty.
Ele could also be a good choice, but with Hunters being pretty dominant at decent mmr nowadays playing anything that casts is not fun at all.
Assa Rogue, I absolutely despise it in favor of Sub but with Assa being so grindy I feel like it could also do very well I just really don’t want to play it.
I suppose what I’m looking for is a class that has a great toolkit, and a high skill ceiling. Something where I can say at the end of the game “We lost there due to me failing X, or Y” instead of relying on teammates. I know It can’t be avoided completely, but I just want to know that I played the best I could before commenting on my partner.
I’ve only ever actually been able to kill 100-0 in a duel with Flagellation, Blades, Symbols, OnUse and Shade proc but granted that could purely be a gear/stat issue this season.
Although It’s hard to see at decentish mmr (2.2+) where you’d be in a situation where you have every offensive, they don’t have trink/immunity and their partner doesn’t have Breath, Blinding Light, Link, Amz, Dome, Darkness or any other aoe defensive to help.
Not saying it can’t be done, I just can’t see it 1v3 which is what I’m really looking for.
Classes with solo kill potental tend to usually do very well in terms of carrying, even things like fire mage / balance can perform very well under the circumstance of just having the healer stun kill target then convoke goes brrrrr or w/e
The 2s bracket is crawling with things like:
Arms + X
WW + X
BM + X
People are doing insane damage, running Maledicts and high enough Renown to get auto-lifesavers (stuns, roots, heal regen) every minute they drop low.
If you think you are going to solo your way to +2.2k you are going to have a bad time.
Strange enough, the most played class by boosters these last days in 2s I’ve seen was DH, followed by feral. I could tell by the fact they had 1950-2000mmr, and 46-47k hp while their partner had 1700-ish, and they hardcarried the game.
Dh rellied more on the insane burst in the first minute, praying to land a kill on the inexperienced low rated players with some fel rush+hunt combo.
Ferals relied on strong constant pressure, kiting resets, and strong defensives if they got focused. They seemed to be more patient, trying to take you late so they can burst-convoke while you had deffs on cd and dampening above 25%.
Seen a few healers as well, and a good RDruid or Rshammy booster is a real challenge.
Haven’t seen any WW or monks in general, probably because they are a bit squishy if CCed and kind of rely on their partner to help a bit at above 1700-1750 mmr.

They have so high constant dmg is is really beyond stupid.
Eye beam apparantly now does about 15k+ dmg and annihilation does 8k (non crit 4x2k) I really don’t know what happened but I thought they only buffed dhs by 10%
This sounds kinda controversial.
Constant pressure is coming with necro, and burst-convoke is coming from faes. And you somehow mixed it up all together
Could it be possible that both nf and necro are capable of sustain damage and burst on demand if they want? Just a wild tought.
Also, playing against double druid resto+feral with the 1 min Convoke leggo as a warrior is pure misery.
