What could the new house in Elwynn from the PTR be all about?

9.0.5 PTR has added a new small house by the Crystal Lake, called “Volo’s Homestead”. There are some NPCs with “volo” in their names, but they don’t quite match the idea of this human house. Wowhead has speculated that it could be a reference to a wizard from D&D called Volothamp Geddarm.

The problem is, would Blizzard really bother do add a new house in Elwynn Forest just for the sake of a reference? Or is this part of something bigger, mabye part of a questline? A questline involving wizards? A questline that rewards…long wizardly beard costumization options for humans?

(Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t be against more races getting such an option, but humans really need it. I mean, I can’t even be a proper Gandalf!)

Problem is, it is too small for a brothel. There is something like a strip club in Boralus, mabye they should move there.

Maybe it’s where puppies go to get their cuteness implanted. Don’t need a big house for that with all the cat lovers around these parts.

It’s part of a questline that forces gnome players to create a new character and deletes all their gnomes.

When blizz references characters, they usually change the name slightly like inverting some letters, or something like that, so I doubt it’s a tribute to Volo from D&D.
But i haven’t seen it myself, just my 2 cents.

I hope it’s nothing and someone at Blizzard just had too much time.

Either fully include old zones in your addons or don’t. But don’t make us go to an old place just for some weird quest(line).

It is an alternate place to Goldshire, because of increasing population Elwynn Forest needed more houses

Probably Thrall and Baines new home, so they can be closer to their Alliance friends.
