What DH legendaries for 9.1?

Hello, I want to prepare a DH for 9.1. Did anybody do any research about what legendaries will be the best for both pve and pvp havoc? I guess vengeance wont change much.

Thank you. I noticed many ppl using it, but isnt it better to use chaos theory for single target. I was kinda surprised many ppl use it even for pvp.

honestly, both a complete crap.
CA is just not random and you get some heal. Doesn’t do really that much dmg. Didn’t even bother to check if fel devastation gets cancelt if your eye beam was kicked.

I tried CT and you get almost no value as you are playing with demon blades and can hardly control you fury income. Every time it procced i am not in meta form and it does 0 dmg.

I must say with darkness nerfed, all the legendaries are just bad

Burning wound for consistent st dmg and cleave, chaos theory if you like a more bursty rng playstyle.
Collective anguish for more aoe oriented fights and m+.
Darkglare boon/medallion for rng fiesta. Works in both st and aoe but you are at the mercy of that 40% chance.
Not a pvper myself but with the nerf to darkness i’d assume the leggo for it isn’t worth it anymore. Collective anguish is quite good or chaos theory for when you don’t need the heal from the fel dev component of collective anguish.

When I say they are bad I mean they are bad compared to other classes/specs. Darkness legendary is losing value and now it will all come down to dps.

Btw, I really don’t know what the devs were thinking when they nerfed darkness pvp talent, where their brains were. I wonder how they think this spec survives this crazy oneshot circus with 2 tragicomic rng def cds. They probably think that 5% leech will make up for that, which only once again shows their huge ignorance or ruthlessness. They even destroyed the burst (UC and The Hunt), the only thing that kept this spec alive in this patch.

Fortunately, my sub expires a few days after 9.1 starts, so I will be able to make a decision in time whether to play or skip the patch.

Well, I have only like 200+ ilvl atm, but I was instantly dying in any kind of stuns and especially against rogues, I felt totally powerless even if I trinketed the stun. So I decided to make this one to help my survivability, but I still feel kinda powerless against certain classes.
Why do ppl say that darkness is destroyed? If I remember the change correctly, it ups the base value and you lose a bit from not using the pvp talent, right? Some new talent dont make up for it?
Leech in the current burst meta means nothing, indeed.

Darkness is already bad, it has not saved me countless times, and it will be even worse. Blur is also not reliable. We all know that rng is essentially bad, especially when it comes to def cds bcz you just never know if you will survive or not. It’s a horrible design to say the least.

True, we got a free slot, but not for the defense, and that’s what we need most in 9.1. The new vengeful retreat pvp talent looks ok, but it certainly won’t save us from 15-20-30 secs burst cds, just like 5% leech won’t. They could at least put 15% leech instead of 10% and + 15% in meta, but I’m not sure how much even that would actually help, it certainly wouldn’t be op especially if we look at feral, ret and enh healing.

Anyway, it is what it is. I can’t be too optimistic if I take everything into account.

Yea, rng defense is no defense at all. 75% sounds like mostly it works, but anything bellow this number is always garbage. As an ability it rly feels bad, especially the fact that you have to stand on it and cant just carry on chasing and counter pressuring like everybody else, who just pops shield walls or immunities and carry on rolling. Thats why I think DH is in such a bad state. Popping defenses while not counter pressuring always puts you into disadvantage.

basically we had 20% darkness baseline (completely useless) and with pvp talent we got 70%
now we got 50% baseline and the pvp talent just makes it bigger and 2s longer (totally useless)
50% as a defensive that relies on luck whether you die or not is just awful for pvp. If luck is the factor that decides you win or lose a match, well thats terrible. It is like the resist mechanic that we had in TBC

btw. on topic again, I saw that the new night fae legendary actually give you unbound chaos proc, so technically you can double unbound chaos but I guess the burst just takes to long and is worthless

hunt → fel rush → immo aura → fel rush

now that it also is nerfed by a lot I don’t even know what the kill windows for dhs are anymore
just plain zugzug to the ground and hope you got enough dps? lolz

That sounds pretty interesting and kinda broken tbh, but so far my experience with dh is lack of proper defense, which doesnt seem to be fixed in 9.1. If they add extra damage and pressure, while do not fix the defense, actually even make it worse, I cant see DH to be too good for anything outside maybe 2s. This SL DH design is like making everybody mad on purpose, both DHs and their opponents.
