What do I do?

My problem with this game:

It worked perfectly until last Thursday. Than all of a sudden, in Thursday, when I tried to log in, it wouldn’t load. It took several minutes to load. And when it finally loaded, it was frozen completely. Some things didn’t even load, like mini map, maps and some NPCs. When I tried to move, the game was irresponsive. And it disconnected soon. I tried a few times, and every time it was the same.

It did happen before, like 6 months ago, so I said OK, I’ll wait, maybe it will fix tomorrow. And tomorrow nothing changed. I tried everything, all the things on Blizzard site, and nothing worked.

Only when I lowered my graphic settings to 2 (I was playing with 9 before that and it worked perfectly) the game became somewhat playable. It still freezes sometimes, mostly in Covenant Sanctum, and always in Oribos, it still takes longer to load, and it still doesn’t fly through Oribos, but instead goes to the loading screen.

Has this happened to anyone else? Honestly, I wouldn’t mind it that much, if the game didn’t cost me 13€ per month.

I’m posting both here and on General Discussion, cause I’m not really sure where to ask. Thanks to everyone who read this.

It might help others to help you if you give bit more details:

  • What fixes you tried?
  • Computer specs

Loading issues sounds like potential issue with the drive where the game is installed. Are you using SSD or normal hard disk? Have you noticed any other slowdowns in the operating system or other games?

Hey there Yinao,

We’d definitely want to know what sort of spec you’re running on right now. Are you using a Laptop by any chance? The first thing that comes to mine is if it’s a laptop, it’s not using the dGPU and instead the iGPU. Double check on the bottom of the Advanced Tab in Settings ingame for which GPU it’s using.

Thanks for your answer.

Reset my interface, made sure all my drivers and OS were up to date, did the repair option on my Battle.net app.

Not sure about that, but since the game worked perfectly last Wednesday, I doubt that has changed.

Normal Hard Disk.

Nope. I just checked my other Battle.net games, Diablo III, StarCraft II and Heroes of the Storm. All three worked perfectly on max settings.

No, it’s a desktop.

Ok, can you try everything in this article first.

If it’s still happening, please create a msinfo so we can check into it further.! You can use a website like Pastebin or similar to link the files here.

Aside of blue post run https://www.userbenchmark.com and post the link here (use “preformatted text” option to do so). Run once before running wow and second time when you launch wow and it has thoe problems (alt-tab while the game is running and run the benchmark). Then post both links here.

Solved, cleared some system junk, seems to have solved the problem!
