What’s your favorite tank, and why?
I am currently leveling this warrior and I’m going to play her as a tank when I’m not healing on my main. The other classes with tank specs didn’t do it for me, but I like warrior especially for their mobility. What is it that you love about playing your tank class? I’ve never tanked before in my life, btw!
Twilight Devastation. The class doesn’t really matter.

I can be that special snowflake everyone follows, in other words - da most important person in the group. Spec doesn’t matter really.

On a more serious note:
Demon Hunter:
- Mobility
- AoE Silence (great for grouping up enemies)
- Leather armor (Best transmogs)
Warrior:
- Great CC
- Spell reflect
- High mitigation uptime
Ignore pain.
Honestly? And coming from tank main, id say that TD was the only good thing about this xpac for tanks.
But here are my fav:
1- Prot paladin: cheat mechanics every 5min, throwing shields, utility over surviving.
2- Guardian Dodo:
Face tank everything with high mastery is fun (thats it)
3- Blood dk:
Not relying on healers and watch them cry because you out heal them.
4- Veng Dh: jumping everywhere is such a nice experience.
Guardian druid for me. I like being a big beefy looking bear that looks like it would take a beating. Fits the entire tank theme for me.
As above twilight dev. Rank 6 on my DK with 1.2 mill HP fully buffed, competing with majority of DPS classes lol.
Love the self healing on DK too. Did a 15 UR earlier with an abysmal healer that died to every maggot, died multiple times to volcanoes etc carried the run on no problem till he ran back, can self heal majority of the packs with some goods DPS with me.
Prot pallys my babe though, so many defensives, heals and shields. It really is a stress free run when I’m tanking on pally. Healer goes down? Can easily survive rest of a pack and get him up (medium tier keys like 15s). Same on most bosses too. It’s very rare I die on prot pally, even when things get extremely messy. Love the animations and throwing shields etc
durid bare. Because you don’t have to think at all and tanking is kind of a thankless job as it is imo. in terms of class kit and all that I quite enjoy prot pala.

I had a hilarious moment today in an Utgarde Pinnacle on this character which has made me fall for Protection Paladin.
Heals were somewhat average - self-heals for the win - and then suddenly, the hunter in the group (or his pet) sneakily pulled an extra pack of Vrykul (the one near the end that can Fear people). The whole place was swarming, and my slightly sleepy constitution was absolutely flailing as I threw down Consecrations and Judgements for aggro gain.
In a flash, everyone including the healer was dead. I was left with 4(?) Vrykul and an Abomination.
Somehow, my hands just started pressing buttons almost mechanically and methodically. I had no CDs out of cooldown, so I had to brute-force it. Thank you, Hand of the Protector, for coming off cooldown so quickly!
I actually managed to fight off all the elite mobs without dying out… received a “ballin” as I ressed the rest. I feel like a true brave fighter… and I don’t think I’ll be looking away from this tank spec later!
Prot Paladin has been great. It gets both ranged and slightly armour-boosting attacks and some cool, although short-lived defensives. I feel like aggro gaining has been very accessible.
Love my Protection Paladin because of the visuals but most of all the sound my Avengers shield makes when it hits something.

Prot pally gang! Easy to pick up aggro, interrupts, heals, mechanics cheese. One person party.
