If pvp check the top ladder on scoreboard if your class is there.
If pve check the top on Rio scoreboard on google and adjust https ://raider. io/
Generally just type your class and specc on raider io and top ladder will tell you what to pick.
wow is simpler now than back in the day. Also some talents changes due to affixes but you could mainly pick one specc and only change during each season due to 2 set and 4set.
(There’s small stuff like that people don’t pick up on playing some classes that some talents completely removes damage debuffs and others helps healer out extremely much. Also Fade has no GCD so you can have it up 100% of the time which is really good.)
I generally use Icyveins to get things started, then start tweaking the build to suit my needs.
The pre-expansion event has been great for this. I setup my main level 70’s from Icyveins, except my Paladin and I’ve been using those as a template for speed levelling alts, but as I’ve levelled up, I’ve tweaked some of the builds to better suit my play.
Usually something that takes a fair chunk of gameplay on a class has been compressed into a day per class.
I use icyveins in shadowlands to see what covenant was the best for my class, but when it comes to talents i generally prefer to figure it outmyself most of the time. Guides should only be used when you are really stuck, not to play the game for you. Figuring out your specc and tactics of raids of part of the game
I always used Icy Veins up until the current talent tree which I’ve chosen without help choosing the spells I like to use (and, as someone said further up the thread, often passive )
Easy, since all it takes is a code to import a build into the game. Not to mention that most Discord servers are run by the same people who publish their guides on WoWhead/Icy Veins/other specific sites (like Mage Hub, for example). I use Discord because I prefer more direct sources and the ability to dive deeper into certain details that guides don’t cover.
