Honestly new Ips , OW 2 is dead you can argue that all you like , it’s dead .
Diablo 4 suppose to be their new cash grab failed , just not enough fun things to do. They rushed it out. The development chaos behind that game is insane.
Starcraft 2 is dead.
WoW retail numbers are dropping so much , they are making you able to queue dungeons and have npcs as party members in the next patch … WoW needs to feel like WoW again but they want to go woke with it , look I got nothing against gay dragons but we don’t really care. What happened to blood and thunder ? Never surrender ? Remember questlines where you had to deliver heads as proof of your deeds ?
WoW classic will die because the content is getting harder and more complex , classic era Andy’s can’t do it. Why you think Ulduar launched , woltk classic population plummeted.

Hearthstone , I don’t even see anyone chilling on that anymore ? Like I still play but no one else seems too. No I’m not saying it’s a dead game but look at your friends list tell me how many are playing it ?

I personally am not all that interested in being able to create a look for the house itself (the exterior). I just want to be able to create a cool and cozy interior. As long as they have a basic choice of ‘racial style’ then the exterior is fine with whatever I am given.
I would like the instanced area to provide an immersive feeling of the area that the house is located in; to me that’s more important than the look of the house itself. It needs to feel like it’s actually located in that area; and provide views of the surrounding area (from within the house as well - with see through windows).
For instance: If I pick a home in Stormwind I want to see a street view from some of the windows and see people passing by and making it feel like a house in the city. With the weather outside changing, day/night cycle and all of that sort of thing; maybe even a seasonal change.

Still a dead content to me, i will wait for my boat and its added functionality.
Claiming phased cube in the middle of Felwood is just boring for me as watching paint dry.
And that’s fine.
PvP is dead content to me. M+ is dead content to me.
Raiding above LFR is dead content to me.
Pet battle dungeons is dead content to me.
There’s plenty of stuff that’s not for everyone. But for a good amount of people a housing system would provide new things to do; new decorations to farm from old content, new decorations to earn from current content, etc etc. They could fill so many niches with that.
And if you don’t want to decorate your home; that’s great: You can sell that decoration that dropped for you and make some gold (of course not all decorations should be sellable though, but still…).

As long as you are prepared to cover these costs by paying premium sub I am okay with you getting exclusive permanent phased cube in the middle of leveling zone. :^)

The game makes different content for different players.
But to be clear: The start of a housing system in WoW does not have to be all that elaborate. One house for horde in Orgimmar and one house for Alliance in Stormwind. And maybe one neutral house somewhere else. That’s all they need to start the system.
Doodads already exist in the game; many of which could be used as decoration. Not much development time and resources needed there.
Stuff would be added over time; new homes in new locations, new styles, new furniture etc etc. I don’t think most people are expecting that they would get dozens of houses with hundreds upon hundreds of decoration options right at the start.
The start of the Azeroth yacht club doesnt have to be complicated too.
You start with small boat, but can upgrade it up to Kul Tiran Man-o-War during your journeys.
You will call your boat on any shore area.
It will have limited customization like dragonriding mounts which has to be earned in game.
You can collect NPC companions you like to accompany you and improve your ship via goods from professions progressively through expansions.
You will be able to plot a course or manually ride it.
It doesnt have to be a dedicated permanent phased object.
It makes world more alive.
I’d like both. Decorate/customise inside and out.
But i appreciate everyome is different.
A home is basically what we both want. A place to call our own.

I get that. But you bring ‘cost’ as an argument. So that was my counter to your argument. You ignore that and bring up something different.
I just don’t think a boat is nearly as interesting as a house in WoW.

Sure; just like dragonriding customization I don’t really care about it.
Because I don’t like the basic look of any of the dragons we got.
So ‘use a flightpath’ or just ‘fly yourself’ basically?
We already have that.
But it would have to be on the water. Making it VERY limited in use.

Just like having dragonriding now doesn’t make it ‘feel more alive’ either.
In fact; the opposite. Because everyone is using the same ugly mounts. It breaks immersion so much for me.

Yes, housing is expensive in any way shape or form.
And we all see ideal housing differently.
Thats why its a pain in the neck to implement it.
I am interested in yacht and sea housing, and have 0 interest in stronghold/garden.
Sure. But there will ALWAYS be unhappy people no matter what they do.
That’s no reason not to do it.
Besides; it’s a basic system. It can be expanded upon and altered over time; depending on player feedback and Blizzard’s ingame data.
