What does my friend need to buy to play WoW?

I have no idea of the process of buying wow now, is it:

Create BNET account
Add BFA CD key
Add Gametime

and thats it?

Also, Does he get a lvl 110 boost or is that something else?

Sound about right

I think best way is to buy battlechest first because it’s cheapest way to get 1 month playtime, then buy BFA and add cdkey there.

The World of Warcraft®: Complete Collection includes everything you need to begin your adventures in Azeroth—World of Warcraft and all expansions, 30 days of game time, a level 110 Character Boost, and Battle for Azeroth.

This is both the battlechest and latest expansion.

A computer

Sequence is wrong.

Either:

  1. Create BNET account
  2. Create WoW account
  3. Add Gametime
    …
  4. (Later, if he decides to stay) Add BFA key, with which comes a 110 boost

Or: as Punyelf said:

  1. https://eu.shop.battle.net/en-us/product/wow-complete-collection

which does it all in one, and gets you a freebie on your first month of gametime

The difference is this: if he commits to buying BfA up front, with the Complete Collection, he gets his first month free. If he goes the other way, he can try the game up to 110 without paying for BfA until he wants to play it.
