What dps meter is my actual dps?

Hi.

So I’ve been using recount for a while now but people told me that it was not as accurate and good as details so I’ve been using details for a couple days now.

On both my recount and details window they show roughly the same numbers. I play a havoc DH 455 ilvl am sitting at around 35-38k and sometimes 40k+ dps depending on the pulls in M+9-10-11.

However what troubles me is that I sometime get someone telling me my dps is " very low " telling me I only deal 17-20k dps when on both my dps meters Im sitting at either 1st or 2nd spot with the numbers I previously stated.

Why is there such a discrepancy between two different players in terms of what they see one player is dealing in terms of damage and how do I know which one is my real dps?

Also another question : Is 35-38k dps with peaks at 41-42k good for a ilvl 455 havoc DH?

I agree nerf dh

depends on “where” you re looking/what time measure.

depends. care linking your dh so we can have a closer look? the dps you mentioned sound pretty average to me but i cant judge without more information.

Whichever one is the highest of course…

If another player says his shows you as lower then yours is obviously the correct one.

Are you talking single target or AoE damage.

And also you need to update details settings to Fast Updates and speed interval to 0.2 seconds to actually measure how you did precisely whenever a combat is over.

Just a tip :).

Do you check the dps of the Current Fight or Overall? That usually differs quite a bit.

Details (or Skada) usually show the correct values. Recount can start struggling when you are having downtime in your rotation, for some reason they do not calculate that in and the result is a higher dps in the meters than it actually is (and I heard rumours about Pet and Shield issues in Recount).

None 100% accurate.Details being better promoted so people mindlessly say its better.

Link to my char

Details by default shows " overall data " ,recount on the other hand shows “current encounter” by default.
So you must select same option in both to compare.
Btw.if you are first in recount you wil be first in details also ,just numbers will be slight different

Can anyone tell me why my Skada works fine on all my toons, but I can’t get it to show on my DK? It randomly vanished a few days ago.

details logs your dps as soon as you are in combat and for the whole duration (even if u die but combat cont for rest group so your dps slowly becomes lower and lower)

while recount stops counting when u die and such afaik or stop using dmg spells for some time (thats how it feels like at least)

So the entire dungeon dps can differ drastically but overall damage done should be more important and most similar

Details is usually the closest to logs data.

Some fights don’t log well like Skittra where you are phased from half the raid party.

DH overall DPS is always higher than boss fight. Check your boss fight DPS and then compare both DPS meter.

You should also sim and check logs. That tells you if something might be improved or not

You can see if any one logged the fights you took part in
