What expansion did you love the most and why?
TBC
I loved how weapons/armor looked ( classic to btw on that point), I love Anzu ( best mount ever!).
Dungeons and raids were hard and maps were great imo.
Purely in story, the WoD horde side was great.
Orcs had a real big Klingon vibe happening
TBC for me. I had the best time ever in WoW then. Afterwards, there were some nice expansions, but nothing ever came close again.
Wrath of the Lich King. It’s because it’s my first WoW expansion and all was so new and amazing.
Legion by a huge Margin. After that Pandaria.
WoTLK.
My main spec, MM Hunter felt great to play. Shadow Priest was also nice to play.
I also liked playing race/class combos that felt like Sylvanas and Tyrande, respectively. (Belf Hunter and Nelf Priest.)
The lore was also really nice and it’s references back to W3 and to Lordaeron - I got goosebumps.
MoP.
Beautiful zones (Asian theme did get boring though).
Amazing class design.
Professions were still worthwhile.
Solo content.
Group content.
Prestigious rewards.
Farmable rewards.
Casual content (such as dailies and enjoyable LFR).
Hardcore content.
Fun reputations.
Great patches.
World bosses worth doing.
I could go on.
Only downside I had with MoP is the dungeons were pretty boring.
Wrath of the Lich King was my first experience so there is bias there, Legion is the one I think stands up the best. Legion basically ended one of the main threats of the story in a satisfying manner, felt climactic, brought in ancient powerful weapons people wanted for ages and basically seemed like a perfect final expansion if they chose to end it there.
…They didn’t, and we got BFA. Yeah.
I liked TBC and MOP
TBC was my first play wow. But, much play alone. No with guild.
MOP was much fun for LFR running for farm mog.
Sadly other EXPs LFR came worst queue longer as people dont care it. Reason bad reward.
MOP LFR’s rewards was better.
mechanically mists of pandaria
thematically Cataclysm or WoD, even though both those expansions were considered ‘‘bad’’ by most, i feel like those expacs gave me the true fantasy feeling
stuff like legion and tbc, being in space, having robots and flying ships and whatever just felt too out there for me
cataclysm was just Dragons: The Expac wich to me is as fantasy as you get, and WoD was again, very core fantasy, as well as WoD having THE BEST zone design the game has ever had
I don’t have favorite expansion, I just do like groups of expansions :
-Class design and class gameplay : MOP > WoD > Cata
-Raids : MoP > WoD > Legion
-Professions : Wrath = Cata = MoP
-Gearing : Wrath = Cata > MoP
-Lore : Wrath > Legion > MoP
Wotlk. For lore… for the raid i did, for the friends i had. And because in the end…
Frostmourne hungers
Cataclysm
I liked the new zones introduced, and I think the goblins was a nice extra race added.
The druid and shammy was awesome in pvp and dungeons.
But really because of the guild I was in, they made even the worst dungeon runs fun
It’s proving really hard to pick just one… I like most of them for different reasons.
Gun to my head I’ll go with Legion.
legion, i particularly liked the class fantasy, the great replayability due to order halls offering different content for alts, the magetower, the suramar campaign and it’s characters.
all of this…
with the added advantage of introducing my favourite race to the game.
Wrath & MoP, both of them for the design of the zones, the storylines and the way quests and the story flowed. And also vanilla when everything was so new and different.
Probably legion
