What faction am I?

How do I quickly know which faction I belong to?
I was farming Karazhan with one of my neutral alts, and at the chess event I forgot which faction I belong to. How can I quickly tell?

For Horde, use Blackhand

For Alliance, command the king

What does that mean?

For horde you control the horde pieces.
For alliance you control the Alliance pieces.

If you enable PvP, the shield on your character name will be the corresponding faction colour. Or those guild teleport capes (if you have them) will be marked as Orgrimmar or Stormwind

Hop into Stormwind really quick and see if the guards try to murder you or not.

What’s a “neutral alt” ?

Try interact with both ‘king’-pieces, either you are playing on the white or black team. Anyway, a tip for the encounter: Start it by interacting with your ‘king’, and then go AFK. You will have a 40% chance of winning unattended.

I was wondering this too…

Anyway, does it not say in the tooltip if you hover over your own player portrait?

You can tell by what race it is…

The heck is a neutral alt?

I have no idea if what exactly is OP refering to, maybe his tauren just identifies as neutral idk.

But there was one ( rather famous) player , that played his pandaren, and he did not choose faction and leveled to max by picking herbs and mines , maybe thats it ?

I am guessing that OP has lemon panda. (apparently you can to not choose faction)

Don’t you have to choose to leave the island?

i have no idea tbh. Maybe they can to leave is someone summons them?

Pretty sure any neutral panda outside their starting zone requires some sort of exploit. Blizzard made the wandering isle pretty airtight considering neutral pandaren running around the world gave them quite the headache in the early days.

A Warlock to summon you out?

You couldn’t join a party to be summoned unless you were of the same faction.

I wonder if there is some loophole in that now, since cross-faction instance parties?

And if there is, would either side of the chess pieces respond to such a neutral character?

Pandaren that never picked faction.

Well, the Pandaren, as a whole are Neutral
Who live on the back of Shen-zin Su are the descendants of a rare breed of pandaren: explorers who left their mist-shrouded homeland behind in search of knowledge and adventure… so nothing like a “tipycal” Pandaren…
And even from among them who follows either the Tushui or the Huojin philosophies are who joined one side or another
So a neutral Pandaren would be treated… as an avarage Pandaren from Pandaria?

Honestly I dont know
And I have foggy memories about lvl 1 pandaren wandering around in the main city, somehow “escaping” from exiles reach, but I think that one has been fixed?

I guess you can grind level via Herbalism and Mining then send a jaina’s locket from your other toon to your neutral pandaren and use that to teleport to Dalaran?
