What facts do we have today (PVP)

So here we are with some spicy facts from the “PvP Balance” corner, brought to you by a small indie company with just 20 years of experience.

I’ve been tracking the ladder since the start of the season, patch by patch, and here’s what we’re looking at right now:

Let’s focus on the 3v3 arena bracket it’s generally considered the most balanced compared to 2v2 and 5v5. Below is the class distribution across a sample of 5,000 players.

Quick note: across all of Europe and Russia, only about 5,000 people played 3v3 in the rating range of 1460 to 2800. Same number for 2v2, between 1700 and 2500. For comparison, back in TBC and WotLK, the number of active arena players in early seasons was 5–7 times higher.

:bar_chart: Pure DPS classes:

  • Warrior – 837 (wow, what a shocker)
  • Mage – 451 (almost half as many as warriors)
  • Hunter – 425 (again, half of warriors)
  • Warlock – 296 (nearly 3x fewer than warriors)
  • DK – 210 (4x fewer)
  • Rogue – 123 (7x fewer… yikes)

:cyclone: Hybrid classes (hard to split DPS vs healers, but here’s the total count):

  • Druid – 750 (includes resto, boomie, feral)
  • Priest – 455 (almost half of warriors)
  • Shaman – 613 (resto/ele/enh)
  • Monk – 442 (again, half of warriors)
  • Paladin – 310 (almost 3x fewer than warriors)

So… is this info just invisible to the Blizzard team? Or do they see it but not get it? Or maybe they do get it, but it’s all part of some master plan they’re keeping under wraps?

Makes you wonder does “balance” even exist as a goal anymore? Are we all just supposed to roll Human Warriors on Firemaw to have fun? Is one class/race combo meant to enjoy the game fully while the rest of us get a watered-down version?

And what’s wild is that this exact same situation with warriors dominating and other classes lagging behind? It already happened back in original MoP.
Why repeat the same mistakes?

Anyone got answers?

It took devs the whole beta and prepatch to figure out whether they want 65% baseline resilience or 66% resilience, and now you expect them to somehow bring classbalance to PvP, something blizzard didnt manage to do in any expansion so far?
While the classic devs arent even capable of adding a crossrealm arena lfg tool?
Yea, let them revamp the whole PvP balance, what could go wrong.
