What happened to no changes

I second this. They keep saying retail is classic in minmaxy, i really think they never played retail tho.

I’m not a rich kid - and I did exactly what you suggested - and it crashed my gameplay … actually it’s one of the reasoons I consider quitting.

Well, I agree, but at the same time I completely understand why people wanted no changes. Vanilla and Retail are two completely different games at this point.

Blizzard should find the middle ground aka keep the core principles of Vanilla, but add the good stuff that came later and more importantly explain all the changes so the community can get behind them.

25% of the OP post screaming that there were #nochanges in Vanilla Classic, while the 75% is rand about why there is no RDF in phase 1 of the Wrath.

Now I wouldn’t reread all the patch notes just cover up what I remember most from 2019-2022

Vanilla Classic (August 2019 - May 2021)

  • Megarealms with 3-4 times bigger population, than original game supported.
  • Changes to spell power on items taken from the latest vanilla patch, making phase 1 casters more powerfull than they were at the start. Everyone remembers Ragnaros with 11 mages, right?
  • BGs brought earlier than they should had been
  • AV drastically changed. We got late TBC version of it

TBC

  • separation of BT into another phase. Not a bad move, but in original it was available as soon as TK/SSC were opened.
  • Nerfs to raids often sooner that in original patch history.
  • shorter duration of phases, compared to original patch time line.
  • epic gems that should had been only from shattered sun offencive rep brought in with Hyjal allready. Talking about power creep here.

Wrath

  • Many QoL from 3.3.5. like cold weather flying skill book for alts.
  • 3.3.5. Class balance.

And on top of it you want RDF from 3.3.0 that was almost a year into Wrath with release of ICC? Something is wrong with your #nochanges stance.

To be fair, it’s a 2 month old thread at this point

Necro’d - I did not realize. Still true though

It is probably a year now when you started considering quitting.

Because Blizzard cannot be trusted to keep their word. Doubling down on the “NoChanges, and we mean NoChanges” pledge that attracted players in the first place, then to turn it into another shameless money making scheme is classic big business.

As someone who put together 5-mans in TBC through phases 1-4 due to being a completely unwanted class, I wouldn’t say it was tedious. I enjoyed it a lot trawling the LFG channel. People leaving because of a wipe did definitely happen sometimes but it wasn’t too bad I thought.

You forgot the biggest change in TBC. Same faction BG’s.

Oh shi… Well I play mostly Alliance and mostly raiding so yes, I forgot this feature from Draenor extended to benefit Horde overpopulation.

Waiting to see what happens when SoM ends, and whether we’re forced into Cata. I still have fun playing HC in Classic Era, but it’s not quite enough. If no Wrath C. Era then it’s bye-bye.

Yes but the thing is removing RDF doesn’t changed anything.
So at the end, they didn’t provided a social experience to the Classic players and didn’t provided a good game experience to the Wotlk/Retail players.
