What happened to that Forest Troll Skin Customization?

While farming IC rares on my Troll Warlock, I remembered that I had plans to make him a Forest Troll, but was sad to see that the green troll skin that was in that Blizzcon image and a couple previews on WoWhead didn’t seem to make it in. I don’t remember seeing it on the PTR either, but I think I assumed it would eventually appear, and it didn’t when the game went live. I had to make my Troll a very handsome Sand Troll instead.

Anybody got any idea why it didn’t make it in? Or at least a good, entertaining theory to keep me amused while I farm rares? :joy:

Edit: As some people in this thread have stated I was originally asking for the same race of Troll we already have, the Jungle Troll! So I amended my original post to the one I was actually interested in, the Forest Troll! Sorry for any confusion, I love the Trolls but I’m still getting to grips with their lore…

What you’re referring to are Forest Trolls, those have the green coloured skin you mentioned.

Jungle Trolls, a.k.a. the playable Darkspear Trolls have skin colours in different shades of blue (in addition they got Sand Troll and Dark Troll skins now).

I can only guess that WoWhead did their showcase accidentally with an NPC only skin colour. That’s why the green skin wasn’t included for us players.

Oh blegh, apologies for using the wrong terminology. I honestly thought the green-skinned trolls were the Jungle trolls. Thank you for correcting me!

Also that’s disappointing if so. It feels weird that they’d give us both Sand and Dark and not Forest also, if we had Forest that would be basically all the key troll factions accessible by us as players. Lorewise I suppose it could be because there’s not many Forest Trolls left, then again they did give us High Elf customizations so I doubt that’s a limiting factor…

Blizzard said not everything datamined that gets datamined will make it to the live game. This was one of those things, it was only ever something datamined.

I think you are confusing Jungle trolls and Forrest trolls

Forrest trolls (example: Amani, Revantusk) have Green skin.

Jungle Trolls like the Gurubashi have the same skin colors as the Darkspear, since Darkspear are Jungle trolls too.

Yes, somebody clarified this for me already earlier, it was my mistake. It’s the Forest Trolls I’m after, indeed not the Gurubashi. I should edit my post to say that actually…
