What happens after BfA

I like to brainstorm. I love writing down the few thoughts i think might interest people that come out of my autistic little skull on an occasion so rare I almost forget I can do it.

So today I was talking to nice fella on Classic and we discussed the future of WoW after BfA.

We need something like a Cata 2.0 in the old world zones. I’m not talking about massive world changes like landmasses splitting apart or fun zones being flooded (Thousand Needles). I mean something to reflect the world spanning war of Battle for Azeroth.

I can already hear you typing 'We quested mainly in Kul Tiras and Zandalar, what changes could possibly happen to the old world? The Mission Tables had us sending units all across Azeroth, each mission could potentially open up new storylines in an old world revamp as well. Just because we weren’t there to see these things happen, doesn’t mean they didn’t.

Here’s an example of what I mean using zones that may have been affected by the Horde and Alliance attacks on Teldrassil and Undercity.

Horde

Ashevenvale - The Horde conquered much of Ashenvale as they made their way to Teldrassil in their effort to rid Kalimdor of the Alliance friendly Night Elves. It now serves as an important supply line for the Horde’s efforts in Darkshore and so the bulk of the quests here will see you following the road and securing the route to Darkshore.

Darkshore - You must aid the Horde in securing it’s grip on this new terrirtory and defend it from the Night Elves who use Geurilla tactics to disrupt Horde operations in the area.

Teldrassil - Tormented souls now roam this once verdant land and a group of Blood Elf Priests and Blood Knights seek to release the tormented souls of the lost to their eternal rest. It is proving difficult however as something powerful is directing the spirits rage at the Horde.

Alliance

Hillsbrad Foothills - With the Forsaken mostly driven from the kingdom of Lorderon, the Alliance is in the process of reclaiming this once proud Human kingdom. The Dwarves reclaim Dun Garok for the Alliance and from there they focus their efforts.

Silverpine Forest - With Fenris Keep serving as a strong and defendable bastion for the Alliance they quickly gain control of Silverpine Forest. Forsaken Holdouts dot the land but Crowley and his pack of Worgen are happy to weed them out.

Tirisfal Glades - Lorderon is lost, it’s walls broken and it’s streets rendered uninhabitable by the foul plague unleashed by Sylvannas and Brill was destroyed when the Alliance marched on Undercity in retaliation for Teldrassil. The Alliance now works from a makeshift base south of the Calston Estate to restore the land.

So it wouldn’t be a massive world changing event like Deathwing caused but more a politcal climate change. Stromgarde may still be in the hands of the Alliance by wars end and Darkshore might still be Horde controlled which, to me, gives a decent lore ending to these warfronts.

Any other ideas? This is just fan theories of course so feel free to criticize

Please no. I don’t want the same old regurgitated zones for the 3rd time. Why not add a new continent the size of Kalimdor? It’s time for a large, new landmass.

If it is big enough, it could allow leveling 1-60 on the new continent (assuming level squish). That would do the same job as a rework, while still offering me something fresh and unknown to explore.

I don’t want to level through the same zones AGAIN - that’s so boring. Cata was bad enough. Give me something new.

Whatever happens, I hope it will have NOTHING to do with the faction war. After BfA, I never want to see it again.

Expanding the resolution of the game, instead of scale. Probably what you say is waaay more likely to happen than ressurecting old content. Because people need to be crowded to play one type of content, to keep it mmo.

I still haven’t seen any faction war. I’m new to bfa, and I did the warfronts, but it was so intensely easy to do the warfronts that I actually don’t even remember anything at all. I just clicked some wood, opened a chest, clicked some buildings, it kind of felt like an unfailable third person league of legends, with no actual player oponents.

why? the faction war is the greatest part of the warcraft story and experience, if they stray too far away from it i will lose interest completely

Because BfA showed that they can’t do it well.

Yea, it’s true. They can’t even make a decent story as well.
After re-questing legion and BFA again from my new character. I found, massive quality degrade ( except graphics) in BFA compared to legion.
