I’m looking to upgrade my prebuilt CyberPower PC but could really use some advice on what part(s) to replace. I hear about one part needing replaced which requires replacing another part etc. etc.
I’m wondering if there are any standout weaknesses in my build or recommendations on where to go next? I only really use the PC for WoW and play on Ultra settings / Max distance. Generally don’t face many issues but lately the game has been crashing (I suspect due to my SSD regularly filling up, which I am going to replace).
What doesn’t your current machine NOT do, that you need it to?
Just replace the HDD (OK; SSD) - if you get any issues after that, then address them if they occur.
“What doesn’t your current machine NOT do, that you need it to?”
probably just bored in isolation in all honesty
Thanks for input though, I showed a friend the specs when I first bought the PC and he said some parts were great and some bad but never elaborated so wanted to check there weren’t any stand out flaws.
Your motherboard supports 3rd Gen Ryzen so a bios flash will make it work with a Ryzen 5 3600. You will see a bit of improvement over the 1600 cpu. So that’s a good upgrade option right there.
Get a M.2 drive, they’re faster than the 2.5 inch SSD’s and have dropped more in price so getting a 256gb or a 500gb drive is doable. Some 1tb drives are cheap enough and are still faster than the 2.5 inch ones even if you go for the cheaper QVO drive from Samsung of WD Blue from Western Digital or other make.
Memory… if going for Ryzen 5 3600 is get fastest ram you can afford. The motherboard you have can support up to 3200mhz depending on CPU.
That’s the cheapest few upgrades without moving motherboard up to a B450 or B550. But you’re limited with the cheapest and lowest spec chipset but does have options to extend the life through upgrades above.
As for graphics. I would say a 2060 over a 1660 right now, a lot of 20x0 cards are being sold cheaper as companies clear stock ready for selling the RTX 3000 cards later in the year.
