I have organized several GDKP runs back in classic, i participated in some TBC gdkps aswell. now i came back after a few months break and i am witnessing this new trend in GDKPs where the people organizing take up to 30% of the gold??? 30 PERCENT!? REALLY??? this is INSANE! it was always customary for raid members to tip the people organizing it… but when has it become such a rip off?
i mean seriously, not even the worst, most greedy bookie will take such a huge percentage off the cut. i am curious what people actually fall for that scam?
the argument “if u dont like it, dont join” is invalid here… i have zero interest of joining obviously. but it is just out of shock and mere curiosity that i would like to check with the wow community. when did this form of gdkp scam appear… and why would someone actually join a run like that?
again… 30% of all gold earned, just for spamming the LFG channel is plainly ridiculous
I’ve seen gdkp runs where they HR glaives, not to sell but to themselves:P
And yet people join those runs, i simply dont get it. Glaives is a HUGE(!) money-boost to the pot, why would anyone want to give leader gold AND glaives?

Must be a Gehennas/Firemaw thing, ive never seen a gdkp run on my server with more than a 5% cut for the leader, nothing reserved aswell.
All the GDKPs Isee on Gehennas are 80 - 85% split with nothing reserved; Atiesh splinters in a Naxx run being the only exception.
Gehennas is the worst server for it, anything you can think of gets HR’ed, the gdkps are designed to exploit the casual folk, ive seen plenty of 30%'ers.
they force players to join gdkp’s, literally, they turn away anyone that isnt full bis T4 or T5 from joining just a simple kara, forcing players alts or new players to either join gdkps and spend any gold they have, or run bgs for weeks on end.
Gehennas is a server for the scourge.
Well not to defend the people running the GDKPs or the people turning others away but if its that bad why dont people just do their own Kara pugs where they dont turn away people who are not fully bis yet?

just have a look on the LFG addon, you’ll see a whole load of HR’s and silly gdkps splits
Because glaive have low drop rate and you are likely to never see them. If you do GDKP time to time, not every week, there’s high chance that you are not going to be bothered with Warglaive.
Anyway, if I’m not happy with leader rules, I don’t join their raids. If I want to get money, I’m not joining a GDKP, I’m forming a GDKP. I’m to lazy to do that, so I accept that leader get a huge cut.
Just make your own gdkp if its that easy
but those two are the only options to play while others are dead. at least i play in pyrewood on tbc
GDKP/Gbid is cancer, game should not work in that way
I know Blizzard ruined classic with layers, alowed exploits and tons of gold but to use gold for items are simple not good for the game.
Im afraid only way to remove all these “gifted” gold from the game is to introduce tokens, but not same as in retail where is possible to buy token for 20€
Tokens should be only obtained by game gold not for real money.
And Blizzard need to make better detection of bots, I reported so many of them and got just few “thank you we removed that one…”

Yeah, thats completely fine. Glaives go for 120-180k, wich is a masssive boost to the pot. Anyone doing gdkp obviously wants the most gold out of it?
I simply dont understand why people join raids where potentially 150+k is removed from the pot, thats all.
gdkp was always trash now u see karma. Thats cause u hosted gdkp in past u empowered them and made this happen. Its your fault.

Why? Because enough dumb people around to join them.
If they increase their cut by 5% every reset and ppl keep joining, why would they stop at a low cut?
