I loved Legion expansion and hunter class in general, I want to 2 shoot foes again. Now it takes ages to kill anything that I am forced to use all of skills to slaughter even normal foe.
And what?! Enemy scales in every region , it ruins immersion…
Who else prefers Legion game play ?!
I cannot stand playing hunter, it became so tedious and broke the game for me.
TTR;
TO PUT IT SIMPLY,BLUNTLY and shortly:
Once I logged again I felt incredibly nerfed down and no I haven’t changed my gear nor setup at all. To hell with all if game play is bad which is single most important aspect of an MMO.
Im thinking the same thing by just loggin in game and trying to find compelling class and spec to play. I might try Survival because thats totally new thing to me. I heard it has pretty high skillfloor and skillcap so might be fun. Time will tell.
If you tried Hunter in Legion, then I am sure you’re aware of how Survival works. But I agree, its a new fantasy for WoW. Think of it like a “stalker” or “tracker”, there are hunters who hunt with spears such as those in tribes.
I did actually for once only, but I wanted to play with ranged weapons, but yea I get it, you fight with two handed spear , it seemed interesting but I quickly switched to Beast mastery ,even survival is probably nerfed now
everything seems, why to make every zone to level with you? It ruins feeling of progression of me
Hunter didnt change much between transitioning form legion to BFA…infact marksman hits even harder in pvp with the addition to double tap and sniper shot.
To be honest survival should have stayed ranged and beast mastery should’ve been melee. Beast mastery hunters are pretty much the leader of their packs, so they should leading said pack in melee combat. Makes no sense for them to be cowaring in the back while their pets do all the work
Seems like you do not even know the purpose survival being a melee. In your mind hunter have to attack from the distance and etc. But have you ever heard of the Hunters with the spears? The concept of the SURV hunter is the Spear Hunter.
I like the survival hunter in BfA, it feels so different to other two specs and changing the talents in your first two rows can change your gameplay even more. But I do hate the fact that survival spec is more beast mastery than BM itself, which has become quite boring spec to play. For some reason I have never played MM hunter… Perhaps I should give it a go?
I had the exact same feeling when I tried MM Hunter on the BfA PTR. I adored that spec/class in Legion and now it’s… meh. Hopefully next expansion, right? They keep ruining the classes I like and then I have to find a new main. So in the end, I’ll have every class and play merry-go-round. Maybe that’s the point…
Hunters in Vanilla/Classic do quite a bit of melee work when enemies are close. They have both ranged and melee weapons, can even dual wield. Wing clip, raptor strike, mongoose bite and four kinds of traps are used by all hunters, SV hunters have counterattack and even better traps.
So the playstyle has roots from the original hunter class, but with time passing melee hunter became a meme and I think people have prejudice because of that.
I have played all specs of hunter and in all expansions. Tried the new kind of SV hunter in Legion and it was great fun, I quite liked being able to do some melee work with the pet by my side. I definitely don’t feel like a warrior!
I definitely miss having only one type of weapon. It’s more realistic having both ranged and melee as a hunter, shooting a bow at zero distance is weird…
Changing spec and talents is done in the blink of an eye, testing and deciding what you personally prefer is so easy and nothing like in the old days. But in BfA I have been very lazy and stuck to easy going BM, not experimented much at all. Still I’m glad I could, if I wanted to.
