With this way of thinking remove gladiator mounts because 99% players are unable to ride this mount and it makes them disheartened to play pvp because gladiator mount are only for sweat tryhards players, remove old limited mounts like spectral tiger, zulian panther, blizzcon bear, stormwind skychaser, orgimmar zeppelin, primal flamesaber, it’s still possible to get these mounts but they are require a lot of money what makes people disheartened to pay more than for gametime and new expansion. Remove mount for cutting edge achievement because 99% players are dishearthened to be not able to get this mount since only sweat tryhards players can do it.
I was in PTR and I was riding this pathetic ottuk. You even puts the most annoying sounds to this mount as you could! This is unbelievable absurd without any kind of logic what maked you add this. A lot of people are agree with me, people with less than 100 mounts in collection saying this mount is “CUTE UwU” really should be ignored because is the only reason why mount still exist. BECAUSE IS CUTE UwU.
I was playing this game for collecting mounts like rest players play for pve or pvp, this was my main content and I got a lot hundreds of mounts in small time frame but at the end of the day I have nothing unique and special to ride.
I got 700 mounts in 2 years and 6 months, people playing since 2008 dont have that amount, with Dragonflight release I would be able to farm 40 more mounts and could get 600 and 700 mounts collected achievement reward aswell (if they only could exist). This is not act of bragging, I show you how easy is farming mounts and limitations are in your mind.
What is 2 and half years comparing to 18 years? I guess nothing, so don’t use dishearthened word anymore.

No, the Ottuk is not good enough. It’s cute, but more like reputation vendor mount kind of cute, not “takes years to obtain” kind of cute.
There’s been tons of topics on the forums in both regions on why the Ottuk is not a good reward, infact, it’s not a reward at all but more of an insult.
If you compare it to all the previous rewards, even all the way back to the Albino Drake, it’s missing everything that makes a mount achievement reward special.
Is it unique? No.
Is it one of a kind? No.
Do the recolors of this mount also take a long time to get? No, they’re rep mounts.
Can you tell it apart from the recolors? Yes, but only because of the ugly bone helmet. There is an Ottuk with the exact same color that’s missing a bone helmet.
Even the first ever mount, the Albino Drake, was a never seen before recolor and to this day it’s one of its kind and easily recognizable despite there being 20 or more drake mounts by now. The Jade Kite only has 1 other recolor which requires 9 exalted MoP reputations. The armored blue dragonhawk is the only armored dragonhawk Alliance can get, and the red one is 1 of 2 horde can get.
Yet everyone and their mother could get ottuks simply by playing a few weeks of Dragonflight.
Currently it is the only one in-game; but there are 3-4 extra armoured models datamined as well.
Even if it stays the only model, it’s really not enough. The armour it has doesn’t make the mount look any better than the other Ottuks. If anything, I think it makes this one look worse cause I can barely see the head.
Better mount models are out there, like Stormdrakes, Stormcrow… Just check Warcraftmounts for unused/never implemented appearances. There are so many that are 10x better than an Ottuk.
I’m not going to be satisfied with the Ottuk knowing that better mounts exist or have existed in the database.
With that, I don’t see anybody getting motivated to start mount farming when they see the reward for 500 is a vendor mount with a weird hat. If anything, it’s demotivating. It needs to be worth the effort and currently it is everything but.
They would rather wish to believe that putting limited time and harder to get mounts would make most people no life the game more. I wouldnt be surprised if we end up with seasonal gladiator style mounts for people timing +25 keys or something like that. We are talking about the same game where people give up playing altogether for having to regrind expansion flying or the new KSM.
…which kinda answers the question how you could have people playing since 2008 but not have anywhere near that many mounts. We got our meme-like saying in our gaming whatsapp group going along the lines that its a badge of honour not how long one has played wow but how long they havent since Legion.
