Hi just wanted to ask what is a good class race combo to start rp . I’m new to rp and haven’t rpd that much I just have a really hard time picking a class and race
Ty
Human is always safe, they work mainly the same way as real life humans do. Nothing to special. and then a non magic class. a simple warrior, a rogue/burglar. or something non combat. Think about something irl. A street sweeper.
Vulpera Death Knight.
Quído beat me to it. I’d definitely just go for a Human as your first character, a relatively regular Joe to ease into the world and the RP community overall.
I (soft) disagree with the human option simply because they’re so flexible. Another race might offer a bit more direction for you. A bit of structured concept is nice on your first go around, hitting some classic racial traits.
Agreeing with humans, but I feel goblins work well too if you want to try Horde. They can have fairly simple goals (money), and have a recognisable way of speaking that can help you practice your mannerisms.
I’m going to be a bit unorthodox here and say pandaren or nightborne — simply because these races have been isolated from the world until recently, and thus your character has the perfect IC justification for not knowing much about the outside world: they’ve been living on the Wandering Isle/in Suramar their entire life and have only just begun traveling. You could learn and discover things alongside your character.
On the flipside, these two are among the most lore-rich races in the game, so it’s best to play through their home zones to get a good idea of what they’re about.
Pretty much agree with Lintian, to be honest. Lightforged are, potentially, another option there; they won’t be familiar with Azeroth or very much besides fighting the Legion for the past however-many thousand years.
There’s nothing wrong with reading up a bit first, even just to get a vague overview of stuff
any one that you find yourself compelled by and wanting to build a story around
A race you like the aesthetic of and class you like the fantasy of.
It’s harder to RP a character you don’t enjoy.
One of the key things to remember with RP is that the class you pick to play needn’t be your actual in-character class - for example, a Gnome could go as a Hunter but label themselves as Tinkerer using TRP3, or an Orc warrior can be a Blacksmith IC and never do any combat. It’s all about what you think works best for your character and your appearance in general, though I would advise avoiding Demon Hunters and Death Knights for the most part since they have such distinct visuals and it can cause trouble.
Good stuff here. What worked for me was going human, because… well, humans are pretty easy to RP. Class only matters if that fits the character you envision. Its all about the looks: wanna be an archer that wears plate armor? Heck yeah, go warrior, they can wield bows. Or maybe you want the character to be a swordsman but the aesthetics of Mage only gear call to you, roll a mage! They can use swords.
Worgen have a lot of the same options humans do in terms of RP, given that they’re still human but just cursed. If you wanna roll a druid I’d personally reccomend rolling a worgen over a night elf, as you can approach druidism as a worgen with more of a learner’s perspective IMO.
I’ll echo the sentiment of “whatever particularly grasps your attention” - something you’re motivated and interested in playing will be the way to go! Maybe something related to a bit of lore you particularly like?
OOC Class-wise I personally find Warriors and Hunters to be the most flexible - lots of gear and weapons you can equip, and in the case of Hunters the possibility of using pets in your RP!
Human/Orc hunter. Hunters are pretty versatile when it comes to RP I’ve found.
While I do agree with the Human argument, I also think it can be harder, depending on your person I guess. Personally I have an easier time making a character if not a Human, so I prefer races that have something more disctinct to them, but are still quite versatile and adventurous, like Gnome, Dwarf, Pandaren or Vulpera But I also think it’s important to enjoy the animations of the race/class combo.
Edit: I’d also vouch for hunter, or warrior, something that’s quite basic and then you can make it more complex as you get used to it.
Orcs pretty much same as humans, perhaps easier because you won’t have to deal with the lord farquads of the server
Do occasionally have to deal with the Garrosh Meatheads who yell MAK’GORA every time you say something they don’t like.
Hello, I am Lord Lordington of the Lordship of Lordsdale of House Lordsford, please bow before me IC and OOC even though the nobles of Stormwind basically have no power :^)
I really loved the Witcher series and I love the idea of playing this guy which hunts monsters for money but I don’t know which class would fit better Hunter or warrior
