I tried many option, I like MSAA 2x but it makes less fps, FXAA is too blurry, so should I leave anti-aliasing off?
If you get low FPS just keep AA off. It isnât game breaking.
I use FXAA, weirdly i donât have blurring issues with it. MSAA just eats my fps.
How much FPS you intend to have?
at least 30-40 fps, Ik maybe itâs strange but thatâs enough for me
What GPU do you have?
I have a rather low end RTX 2060, Iâm also playing on 2560 x 1440 and I just put everything on max except raytracing because that makes it unplayable on the 2060âŚ
Nvidia GTX 1060 3GB
I had the 1050 before, which is weaker than your 1060, and I was able to play with rather high AA without too much of an FPS loss.
Can you maybe post the rest of your graphic settings? You should be able to play with MSAA 2 or higher while staying above the 30-40 fps you wanted.
Except in raid content of course, but thatâs not necessarily a GPU bottle-neck
Well⌠I have graphic in WoW on maximum, you know 10/10
When you look at it, do you see jagged edges?
Thatâs really how simple it is.
Iâd say 4x on such a monitor. I use 2x but on 4K at the same size, but it all depends on your sitting distance and how good your eyesight is.
i used to play wow on a pc with a titan 980 gtx ti at 60 fps now i have bought another with a 2060 and i have to turn off ray tracing to get 60 fps , i have found getting the contrast and brightness just right makes a far better screen to look at i run msaa 2x and 1920x1080 on a 32" monitor
ideally the most MSAA you can put without performance dropping below where you want it. personally 2x is the minimum at 1440p and 4x feels about right, with 8x feeling a bit overkill.
if 2x MSAA is too demanding, you can use post-processing AA instead. it is basically free but introduces other problems instead which some people notice more than others. if you think it hurts more than it helps, use nothing.
Reduce your shadow settings. They are 80% of the load and 10% of the visual quality
You should get a gpu that can handle 1440p,if msaa is causing slowdowns is because your gpu is struggling at that resolution.
or just buy a 1080p monitor and enjoy the game at 4x msaa.
also what resolution scale you using?
100%, but i think I found anti-aliasing for me, FXAA
Shadows, SSAO, Depth Effects, these donât make a lot of graphical difference but lowering them helps on the FPS side of things.
View distance can be lowered too, for me i actually i rather have a limited view distance than a super long one, makes the world feel smaller for me.

100%, but i think I found anti-aliasing for me, FXAA
ok,try to reduce view distance and environmental detail to 8 (since from 8 to 10 is 20 yards LOD and sucks a good chunk of cpu power)
also on advanced options check âtarget fpsâ and choose your monitor refresh rate
go to graphics and set âspell densityâ to dynamic, that way the game will hide not important spells from other players when fps goes below the target.
also check if you are NOT using raytraced shadows, its has almost no effect and sucks your fps dry.
Heâs using a GTX so Raytracing is not even usable.

Heâs using a GTX so Raytracing is not even usable.
true my bad i didnt see his gpu

Nvidia GTX 1060 3GB
That is NOT a 1440p card⌠1080p only.
I, too, used to have a 1050 ti (4GB) & it was only capable of 1080p in WoW.
To run 1440p, youâll need at LEAST a GTX 1080/ti or, preferably, 20-series or newer.

I have graphic in WoW on maximum, you know 10/10
WhyâŚ? Too high. Try selecting âRecommendedâ in graphics settings - those will be what youâre 1060 will be designed to run at.
This thread should really be in the âGames, Gaming & Hardwareâ sub-Forum.
