Greetings, I’m thinking of moving from my current server to Defias Brotherhood. I was just wondering what the realm is like seen to population and activity.
I’m a little bit of what you can call the older generation and I’m looking for some friendly people to raid and do other things with. Most of my friends have quit years ago.
The server status lists Ravenholdt and Defias Brotherhood as High population, but when I log in to take a look around, it seems rather empty. I’d like to hear your opinions (Before classic was released).
Please add what you think of the server in general or if you have any other useful information for someone that has never played here before.
I have started a new toon on the realm and it does appear to be quiet on both horde and alliance. This is entirely down to classic. Whether or not the majority will return is another matter altogether
The majority of people also play with WM on, so if you had WM toggled off, likely you wont see as many people as well due to the phasing of that and also sharding. I’ve been on the server for 10 years and there has been a decrease in active players, especially during the day but evenings and weekends are still busy.
This realm have kinda ‘died’, atleast after BFA came out. Alot of reason’s.
But the biggest reason is that WM here is mostly just alliance players because this is now sadly RP server which is merged with Argent dawn in the new zones.
To make it short i would not move a character or waste my time lvling a character here.
Thank you for the information so far, it has been valuable for my decision. I’ll keep an eye out as we move forward in the BFA expansion and with Classic.
It was a great realm. I enjoyed it over Arathor and Silvermoon (where I came from) and I stuck with it all this time.
I’ve been Guild Leader of a Raiding Guild here for a handful of years in total and found it to be one of the most fun realms I have been on to begin with… Be it from general banter with other guilds, the PvP scene (which I am not great at but enjoy now and again) right through to casual nonesense.
I took a break from early WoD until early/mid Legion and when I came back, the realm was different.
Different types of players with worse attitudes, recruitment on the realm took a hefty nose-dive and it seemed all other guilds had large rods up their backsides.
Fastforward to now - It’s worse than ever. The realm community I knew from late Cata right through until early WoD is gone. The remnants of it when I returned to WoW in Legion has finally been snuffed out by this point, in mid BfA.
Inter-Guild interactions are dire, recruitment and general ability to attract good players to the realm is a nightmare and the community is the worst I’ve seen it on this Realm.
I recently moved this guild to merge into another on a far more populated Realm and while it’s not the same as Defias used to be, it is far nicer to see players everywhere - people doing things outside of the Group Finder and so on.
It was a sad day when I realised that Defias is no longer a viable realm and it’s only a matter of time until more of the recognised guilds move, disband or crumble due to the environment of this realm.
No single thing could help it recover.
It is too far gone.
I have over 20 characters on this realm still and I want to leave them here to hold out hope something will change but meh, as I say, it’s too far gone at this point so I am holding out on foolish hope.
Hope this helps - I honestly wouldn’t move here if I were you.
I realise I am late to the party here but there you go!
