What is DF like?

Old returning player from MOP period

Can anyone tell me if the dungeons get any better once you start doing DF content?

I played an old character from 35-60 and did a few dungeons, I was surprised at how fast you level up now.

I managed to get to lvl 60 in no time at all doing some dungeons, which just felt like a race simulator / try catch the tank game. I was healing, but to be honest I didnt have to do much, the team could have survived most of the dungeon without a healer it seemed most times.

They were not in any way challenging just a zerg to the end and collect loot It was disappointing and it’s putting me off buying the new expansion to try out

Having asked in game about DF dungeons people have said they are not much different to -60 ones, tank and spank came up more than once

Where is all the complexity people mention coming from, seems some people think its too complex while others are saying its hit things and collect loot.

Max level end game content.

Either m+, mythic raiding or rated PvP

Leveling content is not designed to be hard.

I still have no idea why centaurs are on that island.

Leveling dungeons are all trivial, no matter which expansion they are from. DF leveling dungeons are (by now) also super easy.

All the dungeon challenge is found in the infinitely scaling Mythic Plus (M+) system. The course of action here is to level to 70, get some gear in the Emerald Dream (gets you to about 420), then get a M+ key from the NPC or join existing groups through the LFG tool. I’d start at +5s or so, then work your way up. If you like dungeons, there’s a good chance you’ll really love the system (I do).

But yes, all the challenging content is at level 70.

Cheers for replies

Its a shame I would have liked to “take in” the older dungeons from expansions I hadn’t done before but they where so fast you barely noticed much about them.

Looking at the mythic+ stuff looks similar to the Wotlk gamma dungeons but with more happening.

Is there a max level for these, you say infinitey scaling.

in a weird position as you get a raid geared level 70 character when you buy the new expansion, might be like getting dropped in the deep end doing it that way

Everything you described was also the case from the MOP era
A tank could solo leveling dungeons back then
A prot warrior could 2 shot bosses with shield slams.

End game right now can be as much challenging as you want it to be

Think of mythic+ as mists of Pandaria’s challenge modes with increasing difficulties
As someone who did the challenge modes as a tank, healer, ranged dps and melee dps i can safely say pandaria’s challenge modes are as tough as a mythic+10 dungeon done at 440 ilvl
(A +10 is kinda a ‘low difficulty’ key nowaydays)

As for raids, the current formula was basically introduced in 5.4 mists of Pandaria so nothing really changed since then

So if you’re looking for a ‘challenge’, it is there.

Your doing a better job at selling the expansion than those who replied in game

Levelling dungeons have never meant to be hard. You don’t really want hard challenging content that’s going to stop people getting to end game.

Mythic plus dungeons, Mythic raiding and Rated PvP are the hard challenging parts of the game. You can also try your hand at the Mage Tower which is a solo challenge.

When the Burning Legion invaded Azeroth, the ancient centaur clans fought and died until the hero Maruuk emerged and slaughtered the invaders. However, the other clan leaders feared Maruuk’s strength and betrayed him, leading to him and his partner Teera rejecting the clans and setting out across Kalimdor in search of a new home
The Wild God Ohn’ahra guided them to the Ohn’ahran Plains, to the Dragon Isles not long before it was hidden by the Dragons, where they came to live in peace with the green dragonflight

Storykeeper Jaru in Maruukai have two options:
Which story would you like to hear?
Maruuk and Teera
Merithra and the Centaur
And will tell you the tales

DF was marketed essentially on it’s absence of systems. It’s hard to explain to someone who never played SL why this is a good thing.

That said DF is a good pallet cleanse before TWW begins.
