What is going on with Windwalker/Ret

I was playing as a fully honor-geared Retribution Paladin and got completely destroyed in literally seconds, even with my 20% damage reduction active. I had to use Divine Shield immediately, but I still died within 5 seconds after it ended.

What’s crazy is that the opponent didn’t even use Karma, and I doubt they were better geared than me since honor gear is the best available right now.

So, is Retribution Paladin just trash in PvP, or is Windwalker Monk insanely overpowered?

Damage is super high in Tww you should of probably used bop at high hp or shield of vengeance or blinding light if the monk is bursting

the first step of understanding if something is OP is understanding why u died

also blinding light does nothing vs clones now, they made them CC immune

WW burst right now is no joke and there’s a channeled ability on one of the 2 hero trees that shows 2.5-3mil dmg on tooltip for a 3-4 second (based on haste) channel

not sure if OP yet but definitely strong with scary burst

I did, I stunned him during his burst cooldowns and kited till they ran out. The moment we connected he basically had nothing and destroyed me in seconds.

Right now Conduit WW is one of the highest dps there is, so there might be a correlation to that.

On topic of that, Touch of Karma is still one of the most broken defensive abilities there is.

Few days ago, I had a WW monk deputy explaining me here on forums how monks are unplayable, there is no burst and the damage is lackluster. Also an explanation on how the permanent knock up is necessary and not toxic.

I ask forum police to investigate asap.

A class could get a instakill, instant cast ability with no counter-play and people would still defend it.

Need to save stun/fear or a defensive for Conduit, because WW will 100% play Absolute Serenity talent which makes them immune to other cc effects during it.

To get full value of Conduit, WW will pop clones ans Xuen first so you gotta prepare in advance.

The ability also does full damage to a single target, so if appears much more powerful 1v1.

Most pro WWs don’t play Conduit, they say Shado pan is harder to anticipate but more sudden burst, so you need to track monks buff to see how much energy he has spent. If it is nearing 300, time for def mode.

WW is good right now, but it can’t touch even a bad mage, and hunters and ele can also kite them pretty well.

No need to exagerate. Knock up is powerful, but it is not nowhere near perma because of low haste you cant get WDPunch to come off cd that often.

bro doesnt even know that no serious ww plays conduit unless in some gimmicks or maybe setup stuff like twd, worthless player giving false information

There’s a difference between making a statement and doing a observation. It’s based on what i’ve seen in BG’s and in Heroics.

But perhaps the few i’ve seen have been outside of the norm.

Go make a WW, i pay you your lvl boost. If you can make it to 2.4 in 2 months you keep the money, if not you pay me back the 3 fold. See how you will like WW in a normal setting, and not donkey BGs

ww is one of the easiest classes in the game, bro. same level of brain dead as fury war/ret/uh dk/bm hunter/dev evoker. donkey class

It is by far the hardest melee with maybe only feral competing. Not saying it is super hard overall, and while it has plenty mobility, it actually needs to have a brain to use it otherwise you will be sitting roots 24/7.

On my ele, I would rather face WW than fury/DH 1000000x times over.

No, not in the slightest.

Sub Rogue and Feral are categorized as “Hard” while WW is in the Spot between Medium/close to Hard

To do Dmg as a ww is really Simple, but how to set up the go correctly, and how to keep Uptime in some Matchups, or know when u have to use Ports or Pre use defensive/ Pre disarm makes it more difficult to play

so i wont say it´s as Difficult as Feral, or Sub rogue, but it is really Difficult to not smash the own keyboard while playing ww, it´s the most tilting Class i have ever Played, even when this class can be fun sometimes.

Na it´s not, otherwise u would see many ww´s at High Rating which you don’t, especially in a rmp meta.

and u cant compare a Single class with Fury war, even Dh is harder than Fury war.

Yeah I forgot about SUB (and proly Outlaw is harder dps rotation-wise) and you are right about feral.

It is just that the pointed mobility instead of targeted (like other melees have) comes off as really clunky at first, like a sudden lag spike or camera shake can eff up your rolls/torpedos.

DPS is not super complex, but just WW mastery alone is more conplexity than most specs entire dpa rotation lol. Add to that juggling chi/energy…it is not easy.

It ia a really fun spec with cool visuals, the only melee whixh has captured my interest.

The biggest downside is you are a sitting duck against a mage with half brain. Like srsly, it is almost traumatizing to go vs mage as WW.

Yeah windwalker is quire broken in pvp. Its almost impossible to defeat it 1v1. They have way too much uptime immunity and insane damage, you can throw all your defensives and cooldowns and they will still outlive you.

Its the only spec i can never beat in a 1v1 as sub rogue. Its crazy.

Yeah true, forgot Outlaw, its a really High Apm Spam class, the thing with Outlaw is, it´s a really niche Spec either it´s op, or completely bad, thats why i took Sub as an example, because it is more represented :´D

or a frostbite proc in your roll animation

yeah switched to Chi Torpedo last ssn, and even this wasnt enough

Karma can be cloaked, also really fun, and to not play orc into rogue/mage feels almost like a free lose

ah yeah, thats true, I’m used to it because Bloodtalons work like that too
