What is going to happen with BFD and Ashenvale after Phase 2 launch? What's your opinion?

I really hope they do something with BFD and Ashenvale when Phase 2 hit. And not been left behind, maybe scale the lv of the raid to 40 and maybe new loot i don’t know.I want to hear your opinions on that matter?

Almost certainly not gonna happen. Re-adjusting the raid difficulty and loot would take too much effort when there is new content to be released and focus on

Ashenvale will remain for alts and late comers to grind their rep. Probably not as crowded as phase 1 but will still occur at least 6-8 times a day with the new changes even with minimal participation. Hell, it might actually be fun for a change to see it play out not as a rush to bosses.

I just hope they retire BFD world buff, so it won’t be a thing for parsing at 60.

Not sure what will happen with Ashenvale event. I don’t think it will be disabled though, which leads me to think that it will probably be still played out mostly because the weekly quest will still give 1k rep to WSG. Of course, it will not be popular at all, and there won’t be many people doing it.

About BFD they said that they will definitely do something with it. Whether it will be scaled up, or it will give bonus XP if completed, we will see. But when asked about it on twitter, Aggrend said they are planning to so something about it.

I just hope they remove the world buff somehow. I know Blizzard loves world buffs, but man, having to get the BFD world buff when raiding Gnomeregan is gonna be pain, not to mention at lvl 60 when you have 5 more world buffs.

World buff meta is what made me sick of playing classic.
I may be the only person who actually wishes for all of them to disappear.

The buff should be removed and replaced with a new gnomeregan one. The rest should remain the same.

tbh you didnt need to get them all, my guild only cared about ony buff and thats easiest one to get

It will prob keep being active as long as the timers wont overlap with anything new.

I guess some of the gear will be preraid BiS for phase 2, especially for casters. But that also means once phase 2 ends it will become more or less insignificant.

Perhaps just have it give a hefty chunk of XP between lvl 25-30 so you’re still encouraged to raid it.

Disclaimer: I didn’t do the raid. I just hit 25. FOMO aside I’m happy.

I would love the ability to access the BFD five man. It is still relevant 25-28.
Same about the dungeon Gnomeregan as well. It’s a pretty crucial 25-35 leveling option, many quests included.

Those who do not raid have… less content, but it’s slightly more accessible, than era.
Otherwise I don’t think it should be a big concern, as the main theme of SoD is to keep the pack together. Although, it would be dangerous to cripple new blood and fresh alts by compromising their leveling experience.

The raid could likely be 5-6 manned at 40, so that can remain. Not sure about the purpose, however, except maybe some gear is staple. I see a risk of it becoming a (gear) boosting place, though.

The buff could be retained similar to the WLK quest reward (or that of Battle of Ashenvale): upon completing certain tasks (quest chains), you’d get an elixir that grants (some of) the buff. It could also be reconfigured to only affect players up to 39.

I think the wb from bfd will disappear not through blizzard but through the players. You need a char who can do the pearl quest for dropping the wb and i think there wont be enough players who did not do the quest when p2 comes.
Or there are some sweaters who only level a 25 only for the wb drop.

i think they will just put lvl cap on it, boon doesnt affect characters above level 25 or something like that

Level cap on the buffs from both BFD and Ashenvale. Gathering world buffs at max lvl is a chore as it is. Keep weekly rep gain from Ashenvale because WSG is the worst BG of all time.

I think it will be left in the dirt, but inless gnom itemization is amazing, some BiS will stay in BFD, making it still relevant at 40.

Was bored with BFD couple of weeks ago already as i think there is too many resets every week. I would rather have bosses dropping 4-5 items once a week.

You really think having a longer time between raids will make you less bored…?

Well, if you do the same raid 3 times a week you get bored faster than once a week. At least i do. It’s really easy, the only challenge is getting in groups.

I suspect they will remove BFD lockout and make it give good XP until like level 29-30 to cover for all the quests we have turned into gold.

Maybe even turn it into 5-man dungeon again by tuning it down.

i dont mind if the raid is retuned, but i do mind if i have to get
bfd buff,
ashenvale buff,
onyxia,
horde warcheif whatever buff with mindcontrol,
zg buff,
bwl buff
darkmoon
and i assume gnomer buff
and stv buff, and dire maul tribute buffs, and pots, and flasks and foods - just to do a raid halfway decent.
