I am looking for a horde RP server with an active raiding scence (do not require it to be too cutting edge, but it would be nice to do normal and heroic raids)
Does horde argent dawn EU (or any other horde server) have a decent enough population for me to take the trouble to roll a character on. Additionally, I want to raid semi-casually with this toon, so I need there to be a decent active raid scene as well, doesn’t have to be too cutting edge though.
If anyone wants me to ramble about the rough draft background of my putative character, this is give below.
So I wanted to create a Forsaken priest, who joins the Merthyr covenant because he believes that through the pain created by light and also by shadow, one can be purged of one’s sins. Yes, he is a bit crazy, like many forsaken, driven to it by his experiences. I currently view him as having lost his life as well as his wife and kids in the plague. He was reanimated as undead but his wife and kids were made part of an abomination (which he helped put down, along with other adventurers) . He regards his misfortune as a punishment for his arrogance back when he was alive. Being born to a wealthy landed family of Lordaeron, he had a natural aptitude for both light and shadow, the latter by his secret readings of the teachinigs of Natalie Seline. His priviledged status in life and his aptitude with both light and shadow are what made him arrogant in life. I have yet to flesh out and refine these details, this is just a rough draft.
Hordeside RP tends to be focused in Orgrimmar and Silvermoon*, the latter being home to an ungodly amount of Elves. Forsaken RP is a little harder to find in Orgrimmar; it’s there, I just find the environment a little lacking. Your best bet would be to take a look at the guilds mentioned above, the Alliance has a larger population where simple walk-up RP is more feasible. For the most part I think you’re best off taking a look around Orgrimmar in the evenings; if there’s aught that takes your fancy then approach them. Not sure what most guilds are doing re. the Shadowlands themselves, though I think -most- are sticking to lumbering around on Azeroth cudgelling the Alliance to death.
I can’t really even comment about raiding since I just about scrabble myself up to the comfy peril of Heroic dungeons before simply languishing on my brass laurels and pretending like I’ve actually achieved anything content-wise. I know Eminence are the guys for super duper raiding Horde side (I think).
*There are some exceptions. Sepulcher as an example. TRP scan is handy for finding RP groups in places.
The Bilgewater Battalion also have quite a few Forsaken within our ranks. Ours are mainly things like apothecaries, scientists, scholars and researchers thus far who are trying to balance the behaviours that were impressed upon the Forsaken with attempting to reconnect with their inner humanity. We try to do a casual raid/content night once per week unless we’re on campaign or our schedule is packed with RP, feel free to pop down to Bilgewater Harbour sometime when we’re online and check things out!
as others have said, guilds are often the way to go, and I’ll contrbute that The Forlorn Order have been a delight to rp with on Horde side, having spotted them at a couple campaigns! An alternative if you don’t want to go down a loyalist route, I believe they focus more on the restoration of forsaken lands
