What is Human Potential?

Sadly a concept used in 90% of fictions... some more brutal (40k) than others
Human master race is boring

With Planet of the Apes (1968) being part of the 10% where Humans actually sucked quite a lot.
The thing is, that "meme" shouldn't exist in the first place, since it's a true fact. Humans are a relatively young race, yet they have built some of the world's greatest and strongest realms: - Stormwind has led the Alliance to victory for a decade; - Lordaeron was effectively the driving force of the world in the years following the Second War; - Dalaran is a centre of culture and learning and played a pivotal role in the war against the Legion; - Kul Tiras is one of the world's richest and most influential trade nations; - Last but not least, Stromgarde was the seat of the greatest Empire the East had ever seen.

No one's asking for them not to be involved or to be unimportant. It's just a little telling when the characters described as the "Alliance leadership" are represented entirely with Human models, with not a Dwarf, Elf or Draenei to be seen.

Well gnomes seems to not have any spotlight in forever. The only relevant dwarf is Magni atm. So if human can be put down for atleast one xpac to give those races more stage time... I wouldnt be mad

No one can deny the immense role that Humanity has played in the history of modern Azeroth.

ANd nobody wants or is denying that. But its jarring that Human get shoved to the front left and right, when the Alliance includes more then just Humans, who all should have their strenghts and weaknessess.... And up until now, all the races except Humans had only weaknessess and Humans were the only ones with any strenght.

I do admit it is showed less these days, but then its replaced with the leaders of the whole Alliance being completely Human-dominated.

It’s a silly, outdated trope that has long since overstayed its welcome.

Most of the success attributed to humans is, in fact, only there due to the contributions of their non-human allies.

There is also a trend of it being praised when a human nation puts its own people first and foremost, whereas any non-human nation doing as much will be intentionally or unintentionally framed as selfish for doing the exact same thing.

We’ll have to see if Midnight is plagued by the trope. I suspect it might be, especially with the amount of focus Turalyon and Arator seem set to receive.

Holy effin necro. Why did you do this?

Forum bugged out for me and showed old posts first and new posts last. Not sure why, but it’s fixed now.
