What is the best way to make a formal complaint?

Hello,

I have made a few support tickets regarding a problem I have in game, Mainly regarding harassment I have received not able to enjoy the game like everyone else.

I have now been told by customer support if I contact them again they will suspend or delete my account.

I received a email with a response to a ticket this morning "Account Action: Warning

Offense: Violation of Customer Support Interaction Policy"

I spoke to multiple Customer support agents who say they are GM’s so who are the customer service team?

These are some of the following questions I asked that, they will not answer and I would like to understand why.

Can I have a copy of your complaints procedure?
Can you please advise me who regulates Blizzard in the UK/EU?
Can you please advise me where I can make a formal complaint?
Can I have the contact information for customer relations?

There response?
"Please be aware that customer support is not the correct address to discuss legal matters and therefore we will now need to let you discuss this with our legal team which you can reach under :

Activision Blizzard UK Ltd
The Ampersand Building
178 Wardour Street
LONDON W1F 8FY"

In my complaint/ticket I didn’t discuss anything legal so why would they get me to contact legal over a in game issue?

There is no official complaints process, unfortunately, and the line I highlighted will be the one that triggered their “legal” response.

Sounds like in your ticket you language may have gotten colourful, or insulting, which is not allowed.

Your questions do seem legal in nature.

This is just the first company that has reacted like this to these type of questions normally ill get either a deadlock letter where I can take it to a regulator for a final decision or they would escalate to management who would be better trained in these situations.

And I don’t believe I was rude in my correspondence with customer support.

What you believe is not relevant. What Blizzard believe is what matters - and they clearly think you were rude.

In any event, I would suggest your relationship with their games has soured to such a degree it would be better for everyone, including you, to move on.

Be aware how you talk to them, if you talk bad about them, as if they are not doing their job propertly, they will take it against you, basicly saying any bad stuff regardless to blizzard will get you punished… dont go in battle. rather leave the game… they are not the same company as they used to be… wish u luck with complaint.

Dottie for blizzard is any type of communication colorful if it does not go in their interrest, cmon man, look around google how many people have problems with their support staff, it is awefull how they communicate with you, and how much you have to wait for a response, for a game which u pay on monthly basis 13€ i believe its a big downside to this game. (GDKP & Support staff) also managment, and i didn’t say anything rude now, and you’ll see because of my opinion i’ll recieve silence on forum account, just because i expressed how i feel about them. They dont care about my opinion, they care about my money.

Masking swearing is rude and against the rules, if you are unsure you should read them.

Correct.

They are a business that exists to make money for its shareholders. Thats all businesses care about. When you realise that, life makes so much more sense.

And here you are, abusing people on the forum and claiming you weren’t at all abusive towards Blizzard…

Blizzard is not a Government Body nor a public sector organisation so there’s no requirement for them to have a complain handling process - nor indeed to engage with customer complaints.

Very few business sectors have formal regulation in most countries (and in the UK games publishing is not one of them) .

At the end of the day Blizzard is free to decide if it wants to take your business just as you are free to decide if you want to give Blizzard your business.

if you are unhappy about how they are (or not) regulated the right people to take that up with is your elected representatives not a (probably underpaid) CS rep.

It looks like you already got the answer to how you can escalate this further, should you choose to.
