Hi all, Quick back story so you can get an idea of what Im dealing with and need to know. I work as a social worker with a small group young adults who have varied difficulties in life. One particular gent I help is a 20 year old that is really bright and switched on however has alot of trouble with multi tasking and processing different tasks at once. He loves his sport and we usually occupy him by getting out and playing football but due to the pandemic we have been unable to get out as much as he would like and I have been trying to be creative with how we keep him entertained.
A few weeks ago I took my laptop to the home with me and played some different games with him. We started off basic with minecraft and stuff like that but because he’s not a kid he soon got bored of it. I was told by my seniors I was not allowed to let him play violent games like GTA or shooting games but I tried him with wow because he loves lord of the rings and he really got into it. Ive only ever played warrior so we made him a character and he seems to enjoy it so far but he’s only up to level 15 (Exiles reach btw is fantastic for brand new players, well done Blizz.)
My concern now is if he keeps interest and carries on playing, warrior will get a little too complex for him. I know from experience that when it gets to ensuring uptime on enrage as fury or managing sweeping strikes, deep wounds,etc as arms that he will struggle and I don’t want it to put him off. So does anyone know which DPS class is the most straight forward to play with as easy of rotation as possible? He’s by no means slow as I say he just struggles with multi tasking so if there is a straight forward class I think he could really get the most out of wow.

I have at least tried almost all specs in the game and from my experience BM Hunter is probably the easiest/simplest one. Granted, at the moment it is in need of some buffs, but if you don’t mind that it’s a good choice. There’s not much to know about it, quite straightforward and you have access to some cool pets the other Hunters specs can’t tame.
If he has multitasking issues I’m not sure if BM hunter is good then, 'cos you still need to keep an eye on the pet.
DH havoc could be easier for him.
At least balance is moonkin form in itself is not hard - cast 2 X spells, dump starsurges and spam Y spell, then cast 2 Y spells, dump starsurges and spam X.
But the druid in itself is not an easy class to pick, with all the shapeshifting and multiple action bars, off-healing/off-tanking as boomie, kiting and countering melee in BGs, timing eclipses, having 30+ spells in actions bar, etc. is not an easy calss to pick.
For the easy one to go and play slowly I would say a class with a pet - so either BM hunter or any warlock spec. But since BM has all spells instant - I would say BM hunter.
4 fun and easy specs to play i would suggest making a trail of specs to try out so they give them more of an idea before setting out on a level journey .

I just see these types of threads pop up now n again and I’m such a horrible person I just can’t see how this is not just a troll topic to encite arguments about which spec is the most braindead.
If it is true and this person is real then it just better to let him/her pick whatever he wants and let him go have fun and play rather than trying to decide for this person what he should play to be the most optimal at the game.
The core game is so easy and you’ll have no problem playing even just spamming the same ability over and over.
If they’re so afraid he can’t handle the preasure to min/max his dps, or die occasionaly, or get an angry dungeon group raging on him because his dps sucks then they have severly picked the wrong game for the kid and he’s gonna be scarred for life because that’s gonna happen no matter what spec he plays.
Let him do his thing and if that is spamming slam forever on a warrior then so be it.
I tend to agree but the OP wording of his post i honestly do not think he is trolling at all there is so much empathy in his thoughts .
Others who have made posts like this you can see a mile off its a troll but i do not think this is one .
If he likes lord of the rings id kindly suggest CK3 and its lord of the rings mod. CK3 Incredibly fun and simple to play and yet incredibly deep. Oh and I have radiation induced brain damage, so I have no short term memory and reduced reaction times among other things and I can casual raid as BM.
Apologies if you think this is a troll post but I assure you it is not. I have very little experience with other classes than warrior so simply reached out for information from the community.
As for the replies thank you all for the info you have given me. Hunter seems the popular opinion so I’ll talk to him tomorrow about that. Appreciate the help so far
