What is the future of Classic WOW?

There are absurd MoP pservers, like large non English South America ones. Some even move to their own expansions or backporting of some of newer WoW changes. They are quite hidden.

Plus MoP is constantly brought up by players when it comes to class design so IMHO there is a large sentiment for this expansion.

Blizzard will make era servers for each expansion and you will have few K players per expansion, +/- some based on expansion and that’s how it will end.

not true, my friend have a history of playing pservers for past 10 years, and he is currently on most populated tauri servers for mop, which has 500-1000 active people, now I dont know that means ally + horde or 1 faction only, not sure.

Your friend is not the full picture. There is at least one non-English MoP server that is quite large and mostly SA plays there.

And even then Blizzard will make money releasing Cata and MoP so there is no point in ending with WoTLK

they said they have no plans on releasing cata and mop - maybe because those are not classic games, because they are not, I would even say wotlk is not as classic as vanilla was but whatever, people won’t agree with me because many things were same as classic vanilla. Except: quest tracker, dungeon finder in last patch, competitive design of combat classes, competitive difficulty raids (new tiers) and new mechanics, rework of lvling exp and new gear that made leveling so much more easier, nerf of dungeons in low levels - i dont know that for sure but i had feeling that mobs were not hitting as hard as they used to hit when i lvled my paladin tank in wrath pservers. Only professions were same as classic series, reputation vendor too and lvling from 70-80 took long time so that would be considered as same too…
Edit: my friend played on all populated servers so he really knows what he is talking, and he says wotlk servers are the most populated, where other expansions are tied equally around 500-1000 ppl, while as I told you warmane has 3 servers I think and each has 20k ppl + on them, most of them are same ppl I think but still says a lot.

I am expecting classic will not have a future after wotlk.

there will always be true RPG fans that will play vanilla again, especially if they get original vanilla without changes.

without changes? they are delusional.

or at least new questlines (no bonus exp, that sucks), and no BGs in phase 1, that is the best part of vanilla, WPVP in phase 1, and dungeon grinding with some raiding

Source or it didn’t happened.

It’s funny how some retail players were against Classic release, and now Classic players are against not-their-favorite expansion being released.

I am not sure what you are talking because I was for classic release, I am just saying that cata and mop are not classic versions and in wotlk things changed a lot, btw I didn’t play wotlk ever, did level in pserver but I didn’t raid

I want the source where they stated they will not re-release Cata and MoP. If you don’t have such source then stop spreading nonsense.
