Hey.
trying to find out which setting brings my comp from 55-65 Degress (In other games) to 77 when i launch Dragonflight, So that i can turn it down and hopefully lower the temps.
The temp of what, your CPU or GPU?
First thing Iâd make sure you have a max foreground FPS cap matching your refresh rate so your PC isnât overworking itself needlessly.
Itâs all because of Alexstraszaâs new model.
That one, GPU
Oh yeah, when tabbed out the temp goes down to the normal
Make sure you have max foreground FPS enabled and set to your monitorâs max refresh rate.
Then the most expensive settings are ray traced shadows, texture filter and compute effects maybe.
You need to play around with settings really and find a good balance. Just keep in mind being in a raid or battleground will make a huge difference.
Thanks.
Iâll have a look at that
77c on gpu isnât even bad. No need to reduce your graphic settings unless youâre annoyed by the fan sound.
Which is the issue here.
They are just very loud
I wouldnât worry about those temps, in my house it saves on using the central heating.
I never said the temps were an âissueâ i specifically said serveral times, there is no âIssueâ
Just that the fans got loud when it went into the 77 degrees and tried to lower the sound.
But turns out the comp just is not a fan of having 2 games running.
Dragonflight have normal temps when i donât run another game in the backround as well.
Just adjust the heat curve of your fans then, some gpus have a very steep curve and a higher threshold
My GPU and CPU donât even hit 50°C in WoW usually. Can you elaborate what hardware you are using? Are you playing on a Laptop or Tower PC?
Shadows always cause fans to go brrrr and also fog like environment, there is an option to lower/disable fog which instantly made my pc calm down. The test was Ardenweald.
It was a light-hearted comment, sorry if it got you overheated.
You actually mentioned the word âissueâ just once. You failed to mention what model of GPU or cooling solution you were using, which might have helped.
Environment Detail and Ground Clutter just add some bushes and stones on the ground. Reduce them down to 2 or 3 and youâd barely notice, there are still loads of trees and rocks around.
I donât know to what degree it is still relevant, but in the past when some graphics quality updates were made, the maximum slider value for view distance and related object rendering went from 7 to 10, and it might help with your GPU burden, with minimal visual impact, to move those sliders not above 7. - Itâs worth a try.
Also, of course, stuff like upscaled rendering for high-quality anti-aliasing and such increases computing burden a lot. (Sadly, though, the computing-efficient AA methods make standards nametags - distanced text, basically - hard to read.)
