What is the point rio

Most people that buy boost buy 10s, and those aren’t really worth much, and is also somewhat the reason why people prefer 1k score over a few 10 runs, since to get a 1k score as boosted you would need to pay close to a million gold if not more, for something that most people already consider below average.
I have done some boosts myself, like maybe 10-20 in BFA and most of the people getting boosted are not using it to trick people and get into groups. Most of them are low geared alts that can’t realistically get into a +10 run yet or bad players that understand they are bad. I have a few times seen people that just wanted to learn the dungeons in a controlled non-toxic environment due to the intense pressure new players face in PUGs.

This is actually a misconception, but i do not blame you for thinking this was still the case. In legion and early BFA, it used to be that only the top 500 runs on each realm so people would rush early in the week to get their runs on there or play with low pop players to get on theirs.
However, as of december 19th 2018 this was changed so that runs are tracked on your armory no matter the rank. This means that all* runs are tracked regardless of when you do it in the week.
*Runs out of time don’t show on your armory and i don’t know how those are tracked exactly

Blizzard should help them, not boosters.
Ffs ION…

How is blizzard supposed to help them?
Ideally other players like guildies or friends should help them, but not all people have that luxury apparently.

Provide the means

without rewards and under close npc team watch aka story mode.

You’re not gonna learn anything from that.
Not only is that so much work to put in to make it work and do it’s job, but so many mechanics you don’t notice until you get to higher keys where they actually hurt.

And even if you do learn the mechanics, you will have no idea how players deal with them, as mechanics can be dealt with in multiple ways, and for some mechanics there is a general consensus on how to deal with them even though it might not be obvious if you only learn it with NPCs.

I will stand by that players should teach players and it is not blizzards responsibility to teach people mechanics. I think it could be good, it probably won’t do any damage, but i don’t think it is worth the effort for blizz.

That is false. The threshold to show your score is much lower. 200 somewhere.

I don’t think he is referring to the score required for the addon to show, as he said “So to be included you have to run higher score than the people that rush it right after reset”. I think he is referring to the old system of only a certain top number of runs being logged so people who did not do high keys zerged start of the week to get a spot. i might be wrong tho

Ah I see :slightly_smiling_face:

I got mine from 3rd run even though i am not a mount collector and have around 40 mounts.

its all about rng.

Nah, you are not gonna learn anything by being boosted.

But

only NPCs can be so patient and forgiving for newbs, who want to learn every mechanic.

They can learn from it, if people want we could boost coaching style.

But point is, they are not gonna learn a lot from NPCs, so even if they are patient, it still doesn’t change that the player might not get a lot out of it, compared to just running a few m0 after watching some videos, so they can see how players deal with the mechanics, and not just how the mechnic works.

I wouldn’t mind it being implemented, i think it would do something, but i don’t think it would be worth the effort, nor do i think it is blizzards responsibility that players learn to play.

Well another issue is that newbie people don’t want to learn. With the current community…“standards”. Showing your lack of skill or asking a “dumb question” is considered an embarrassment and “frowned upon”. So many would rather be silent and hope of not getting called out.

Or we can go to a different angle and if you respectfully advise somebody on how to do better. Some might take it as a personal insult and at best will just ignore you…at worst…you will hear all kinds of stories regarding your mother.

So teaching new players can be tricky since so far. I have seen very few people who genuinely ask for help or are willing to accept advise…

That is utter nonsense. I’m 2.5k and I’m in the top 0.3% or something.

RIO is there to make sure you buy your weekly tokens and boosts. The ammount of people keyboardturning in highend content is amazing.

Found the booster.

A booster calling others toxic, not sure if serious.

To each according to their needs, from each according to their abilities. Would probably fail miserably, just as communism did.

I don’t understand how people can buy boosts to get score for an addon, only thing i can think of is worth buying is maybe mythic raid mounts before it goes 1%.

Pretty much yeah, find guildies, friends, communities and so on to help. I’m not a “bad” player, but i don’t enjoy m+ in bfa so i only do it for my weekly, 1-2 dungeons max usually striving for a +11, meaning my score is pretty bad even if i’m not a bad player, so i always play with friends (even if only 1 to make a group with me) and guild members if possible as obviously i can’t pug myself. Sadly that’s the only way. I enjoyed m+ in legion a lot better, it was obviously a lot easier and it was a piece of cake to pug +15 every week even, now i’d be lucky to do a 13 and pugs are honestly pretty horrible for the most part exactly because of boosts. And if you have a +9 forget about finding a good group to boost it because none of the better players need to do it and you are stuck with…well inexperienced players. I don’t really see how blizzard can help unfortunately, but i do think m+ in legion was better and a lot more …inclusive let’s say. They wanted to make it more competitive in bfa and they succeeded but sadly that pushes a lot of the more casual players away from it.
