What is the point rio

I have done +9 underrot weekly since release for mount, but i can’t join it anymore becouse i need to run all dungeons for score?

If you try a weekly run it can drop from a regular mythic aswell

Ostensibly, RIO helps us identify the good players from the bad.

Unfortunately it also drives a massive wedge into the community, with the result that pugs are all “CHECKING RIO!!!1” and the moment a wipe happens in their +12 someone gets their flounce on because the group wasn’t actually good enough to carry them after all.

I’d suggest a browse of the communities recruitment forum, see if you can find a relevant dungeon running community. My only suggestion would be alliance and that’s no good to you ^^;

It’s not really true - due to boosts.
People buy them with gold, get good scores and you still end up with bad players with high scores in high m+.

Also, only 1000 scores are registered? So to be included you have to run higher score than the people that rush it right after reset? Or do I understand it wrong? Well, didn’t play m+ since Legion due to this madness.

I don’t pay any heed to RIO tbh, I run with a dungeon community, but I think you’re right that it only tracks the top N players per server.

It leads to a wednesday rush whereby people try to claim a top spot that will actually be found, because they’ll be getting all the groups for the following 6 days while people who didn’t get on the board immediately, never will.

Which is why I suggest just opting out by finding a guild and/or community that does a lot of dungeon runs

Idk about the tracking, but even on the end of the week, you can easily manage to get on the leaderboards with a +10. Those who can’t do +10 in this late into the tier, well they won’t do too much M+ anyway.

Also score is for pugging. You can always make a group / take your friends for a run. I think its a lot more enjoyable, even if you wipe sometimes.

This is exactly what I do  Communities and guilds are far more effective for successfully running M+ than RIO. In the end, I really think RIO will just push us back towards paying attention to the social aspect because it works.

Well.

It works unless you’re a deek.

Which is also fine. If RIO could filter out the deeks, we’d be better off than with it filtering out people who didn’t quite make a +8 on time.

Raider io is like a CV for mythic plus, it reflects the player experience and shows what they’ve completed. It also translates runs into scores. So if you do every dungeon at +10 level on time you’ll sit at roughly 1k score. The scores are reset every season.

If you have the in game addon you can hover over another player’s name applying to your group and see what their score is and the experience they have in the specific dungeon they are applying to.

You can also check their website to see more data.

As someone who pugs r io is totally useless.
I have recently completely dropped it. It doesn’t indicate much. I’m using other criterias.
Way better results

RIO is there to help with the gear inflation that exists. It is relatively easy for a person to get geared up to 400 plus gear without doing much to get it.

Some people seem to think that gear = abilities and they will join PUG groups for higher keys, the group wipes and then the screaming, heckling, and blame game begins.

With RIO you can see a person’s score but also check their previous runs, to see if you want them in your PUG group or not.

I personally never PUG anymore and never on this character, always my horde alt with 2 communities I am part of and with my guildies. If I do pug I will do it to help out people who simply want to get a lower level key or just want to try mythics.

I also never really pay attention to RIO, but I can see why people pushing high level keys do, if you have a high level key, why waste your time carrying someone who cannot keep up or does not know the dungeon or the affixes? It will slow the group down when the entire purpose of mythic is to beat the timer, never wipe, and upgrade the key.

rio’s like the democracy, its flawed and pretty bad but its best one so far

Yup it serves a purpose if you use it right.

not perfect by any means.

I wonder what will happen if you apply communist ideology on that like everyone gets a chance :joy:.

It helps underperforming ppl find free boosters.
Like 300+ Rio higher than needed for key.
Srsly with the amount of golden boosts it doesn’t show much.

So if you want to do specific weekly 10, key holder with 385 ilvl and 800ish Rio will request 1,3k plus 410 gear in general.

I do that on x5 alts then mythic+ on main.

False. You can get up to about 2.5K rio with boosts, most people are around 2.5k right now. The actual good players start from 2.5K.

7 Alts, 7 m+ for weekly and then one or 2 extras with the tank.
Still hasn’t dropped for me.

In another words, to be invited into M+ Rio heaven buy a boost.
Nah, I’ll pass.
