What is worse, a RETCON or a RECONTEXTUALIZATION?

Honestly at this point I find myself to be more willing to at least try to aknowledge a retcon, rather than a recontextualization. For example you can’t just make Arthas show up and tell us that everything he had done in WC3 and after was all the Jailer and that he had no say in it, and expect the audience to just nod and say “Yes that’s actually what had been happening all along, the writers had been planning this since the beginning”.

If you’re concerned about the story here you’ll find that it’s worse empty carbs than you get at McDonald’s.

Perhaps you didn’t know, but Zovaal planned your post too.

But yeah, I’m with you.

Both are garbage.

Ret, but recon, or recun is also good.

So; who was controlling Ner’zhul to make him believe that a dying Naaru was a power vessel intended to fuel the Iron Horde to a fabled victory… or even get him to fashion the Frozen Throne to lure Arthas into becoming the Lich King?

Even Mal’ganis admits that the Jailer was pulling the strings of the Nathrezim, not the Burning Legion… even Sargeras may have been in league with Zovaal/The Jailer/whatever name you choose to give him.

No-one will ever know, because the story of the game doesn’t have to fully written before the game is created, unlike films that are based on literature.

The Jailer planned it.
