What is wrong with Blizz nameplates?

Having issues with nameplates ever since the patch.
First off, it’s set to only show nameplates in combat, which doesn’t work.
Then we have random mobs showing, some show, some dont. Some NPC’s show, some dont.

Then i have it set to not show enemy pets to avoid having my screen cluttered with BM Hunter and Demo pet nameplates etc.

Under Interface > Nameplates i only have Larger Nameplates, and Enemy Unit Nameplate show. Minions and such are set to OFF. I have everything set to show in combat only, but it shows all the time.

Super weird. Tried the usual things like deleting WTF folder, interface, disabling all addons etc.

Nameplates are controlled via CVars, those steps don’t affect CVars. I’d recommend grabbing AdvancedInterfaceOptions and using the CVar Browser to confirm the nameplate CVars are set how you want them.
