What is Xal'atath doing with Khadgar (Spoilers)

Like many of you I don’t believe Khadgar is dead.
And Xal is far too smart to “waste” someone like him when she is trying to have powerful people on her side.

I think she merely teleported him somewhere and have bigger plans…

What kind of fate you guys think she has in store for him?

(Let’s try to keep the naughty naughty comments low please xD)

I dont understand why people think hes not dead? Like we do see him being desintegrated. I dont see how he isnt dead. Its a shame but

That was just the shadow distorting the light as he was pulled into the black hole.
I’ve seen enough Interstellar to know he’s standing behind a bookcase somewhere, spying on Xal’atath

Quizzing him on the location of Med’an so that she can find and eliminate Med’an before he gets introduced to World of Warcraft.

It would be counterproductive for Xal’atath, a Void entity trying to empower an ancient relic, to just kill one of the greatest magi on Azeroth.
If Khadgar is really dead I would say is a rather out of character reaction and doesn’t match to the portrait Blizzard is trying to build.

I think she is trying to absorb his knowledge and power or trying to corrupt him, maybe something similar to what the Jailer did to Anduin.

Basic rules of story telling. If someone doesn’t explicitly die on camera, they are not dead.

Bit daft to get rid of a major character in an intro…

Khadgar will return as an Ethereal, found by Alleria.

Xal’ is the Herald of Void Lord Dimensius, whom destroyed the planet of the original inhabitants turned Ethereals due to their high arcane energy. Xal’ probably used the same attack on Khadgar, ‘disintegrating’ him.

What does Khadgar have? Lots of Arcane energy… stands to reason he’ll become like an Ethereal.

And we’ll get Ethereals as the next playable race.

This is all assuming he was ‘killed’, and not just teleported.

Do we? or is he just in the void ball… he has beaten Sarageas/Medivh I think elf lady can’t kill him lol…

Rule of cinema. If you don’t see them actually die and/or see a dead body, chances are they’ll come back.

He got varian-ed, only in blue-berry flavor this time, instead of the refreshing flavor of fel-lime. x) Sorry to say, as he was my fav character from the current era of wow, but chances are he got varian-ed and is dead.

Why not show the whole body, though? Why is there not much mourning for Khadgar beyond Alleria vowing to avenge his death and Dalaran’s destruction? Why is the Wondrous Wisdomball not working in Khaz Algar?

He’s probably alive and maybe he got absorbed by that ball of Void energy like Xal did. We’re explicitly shown that happening, so maybe the same thing happened to him and he’s somewhere in outer… SPACE! Hopefully he’s learned something about how to defeat ze bad guys, otherwise why go through a fake-out death when he could’ve just leapt through the void ball for the same effect? I bet you a stack of Dalaran Swiss he’ll return in the final chapter of the max-level campaign.

They basically already revealed in an Interview that we’ll see no major character death yet. So it’s very unlikely that Khadgar is dead. Also, since most of the story revolves around the Alliance, we already know noone is going to die.

However, if the Horde were to name a Warchief, they’d be dead in 11.1 :joy:

Using his void-flavored disenchanted remains as glitter in her evil lair.

Thing is, usually we’re shown the death of an important character on screen. Kil’jaeden, Gul’dan, Archimonde in WoD, Arthas, Maraad, Ga’nar, Varian - you get the idea.

If we aren’t standing over their dead bodies in a raid, or no cinematic has shown them die, chances are they’ll be back eventually.

I have the same impression.
I still think when things are really dire for us, maybe in the coming expansions, he will ride to us as “Khadgar The White” - when we least expect it / need the most.

Well… he is dead…

But not really dead. He is in the shadowlands.

Being milked for his anima. Like a cow.

Like Uther, Garosh, and Arthas…

He’s not dead… he will come back as a floating head in a ball and will follow us around forever:

Part of me thinks that good writing practices dictates that he is not gone but was taken away for drama. He is an important character who hails from WC2. The only good writer who butchers his characters is GRRM and he managed to write himself into a dead end.

Then the other part of me remembers that Blizzard is no longer having great writers who love the legacy of Warcraft. So Khadgar might have have gotten the Shadowlands Arthas treatment for the crime of being a masculine Body Type 1 with low pigmentation.
