It’s about burnout and this is my way to enjoy the game mode every season, plus getting more than that doesn’t have my interest. I play the game for fun, enjoy the time with my friends, not to burnout or to compare myself to others
A bit less than a few weeks ago when I was struggling to obtain KSH and, for some reason, was dead set on timing a +10 SV when a Dawnbreaker 10+ would get me over the edge of 2.5k. Now I just run the keys I want for my vault
Okay but what is after that, reward wise, besides epeen? Title? I don’t have the time or the group to do so.
So what should i do? Point at 3k? A random number that means nothing. Is not PvP mmr and i dont need the validation from it.
I prefer to get KSH on all healers instead of ramming my face against +X key in pugs just to flex a score that is below average compared to the top of the leaderboard.
I actually do not even know what you get at 2500 rating. Why are people refering to that?
To me it is just a very fun gamemode that allows and extra challenge and improvement all the time.
I suppose i am so out of touch what the scores refers to I though in DF we got KSH with like +17’s timed over the full board.
And i just got this weekend my last portal, but i was also timing 11’s already so i got my last portal on almost (just checked raiderio) 2700
It’s like 2k and 2,5k score, right?
If we assume there are ~5 mil players who actually play M+, then you have around ~70% of people having it and 45%. If you count players who don’t even play M+ then you maybe gonna get your 10%, otherwise I don’t see how this should be possible at all.
I’d say my experience confirms these numbers, since this is how I could easily farm +8 crests on my 595 ilvl Priest in time.
Obviously I am not (solo) failing this but the team and I am just not leaving the group since my intent is to help players, not to time the dungeon. Of course I could insta leave every group, like people do on high keys to have my history clean but I am just not that guy.
It’s not about leaving groups or not. (But its nice to see you don’t).
On the one hand “anyone can do it half naked!” On the other hand +10’s fail with 620 groups. I just take exception to the “its so easy anyone can” narrative. It’s clear they generally can’t.
Good players generally have a massive blindspot around their capabilities compared to others. You occasionally see threads where people get KSM late in the season and they are so pleased they are basically throwing a ticker tape parade for themselves. They pushed their particular envelope, while you see it as “they basically got it thrown in their faces”.
I guess the attitude just irks me (and its not pointed at you). For a lot of people its genuinely hard and so many people can’t even conceive of that concept.
Well ye, I obviously meant when you actually know what to do. I just assumed that someone who has a goal, is actually not facerolling his way through to this goal but also puts the required effort, like knowing the basics.
I guess I kinda learned that when I was helping some people on the No Pressure Discord. I think so far my worst run was +7 Ara Kara. Before this one I didn’t even know you could pull THAT slow and weird and I honestly have no idea how someone could do that and think this is the right way to play. You’d think that people learn in low keys how it’s done at least somewhat properly but not pulling 2-3 mobs through the entire dungeon.
The difficulty is just so scuffed this season but most of the time what I saw was not people struggling with the actual dungeon difficulty but actually making their own life harder for no reason. It’s like you would try to open a door with your face and saying opening doors is just not easy at all lol^^
I was looking a the WoWhead data.
But looking at this data I think it’s still an assumption, no? If you start an alt (or potential main) and do like a few +2s (or other low keys) and reroll (because you are not getting invited or whatever) then you will affect this statistic, no? Meanwhile it says nothing about the potential of completing. Or do they remove the inactive characters constantly?
I’ve been riding an 8/10 burnout since the first week when it became evident that this season is brutally tuned. The effort:reward ratio completely squashed any thoughts I had about casually pugging easy keys on alts.
With my 3 raiding characters now 619-622 ilvl, the only M+ of any value to them is 8s, preferably 10s. Did a few keys with my guild, and… we finished them. Timed one, depleted several.
My guild is great people, they make the time well-spent, but I feel like we’d all have been significantly happier had we not had to keep saying “it was a decent try” and walk away with just 5 crests.
It is… a frustrating season. I wish Blizzard would just pick a difficulty for myth-track-vaults and stick with it, rather than bounce us around so some seasons are painful and others are free rides. There is a healthy midground (it was probably DF S3) and we are very much not at it right now.
But I guess only Blizzard really know how much the current tuning is costing them. Maybe they’ve only had 100 people unsub citing M+ isn’t fun. Maybe they’ve had 100,000. In the latter case, I expect S2 to roll around with +6 for gilded crests and +8 for myth track. Again
