For me nothing beats when I was leveling up my first char - this one - during BfA before they made the old Azeroth zones scale up with characters.
I think I was about level 15 and tired of questing in Loch Modan - and decided to explore the roads out to the connecting zones. I was very fascinated by those Dwarven tunnels everywhere, and headed to Wetlands first. Saw a level-appropriate quest and some hostile orcs by the road after the first tunnel, and turned around.
Then I headed south during what seemed to be an infinitely long tunnel down to Searing Gorge. I knew the zone was bloody read according to the level range on the map, but it didn’t really hit me until I just stepped outside the entrance and saw a bloody red (but actually blue) spider. with no level tag on it.
All I ever saw was a skull I never had seen before, and I turned around for the tunnel immediately. By the moment I started turning I was already dead.

Fall damage whilst levelling my first char (this one) in Highmountain. I bubbled on the way down, not realising just how far I had to fall, so it ran out before I hit the ledge half-way down the mountainside. I refused to take Res sickness and spent the best part of an hour finding a way back to my corpse!

I had to take a wee the other day and when I came back I was dead. I still think about it sometimes

I was a female blood elf rogue and died to some elite mob ~ lvl 15. Next thing I remember, I reincarnated in another world with computers and technology as a male.

I died to fall damage on the edge of the monk class hall turtle, and was assigned to the crossroads graveyard, on an Alliance character.

the game…since 2004
seriously, Varian, and our eventual vengeance on Gul’danl…’;.;’
…oh, myself?..forgotten them all…too embarrassing
most useful death was discovering by accident you could get to Moonglade by swimming north of Darkshore and drowning to respawn at the gy

Not my death, but during MoP on timeless isles I would Mind Control people afk at the flightpath and drowned them to make underwater graveyards. That was fun

I still remember that with my elf I was leveling in Redridge Mountains with a friend, and we looked out on the door that connects to Burning Steppes: a group of imps liquefied us in a second, it was a trauma we never went there again

I mean, basically any time I get pushed off Lumbermill… and I’m not on a pandaren. Pandaren don’t die from that
I always wake up if I die in a dream… don’t think my brain knows where to go next.

My most memorable (also most stupid!) death was back in vanilla. I had never been to Moonglade before and I was curious to see it. But I was too low level at the time, didn’t even have my first mount yet. However, I still decided to find my way there.
It was one glorious corpse run through Felwood and that bloody furbolg tunnel, but I made it at last. Was it worth it, though? Definitely not. There was absolutely nothing exciting to be found in Moonglade…

i either wake up or i kinda just morph into someone else…
or the dream takes a different route…
i got a feeling i can control the direction of my dreams (apparently some people can)
but i never really been aware enough to notice if i can or not.
i know in light sleep i can definitely control it… but in deep sleep it’s hard to tell.
Lucid dreaming is very obvious when it happens, because you’ll suddenly know you’re dreaming - and that’s when you can take control over it. Doesn’t happen to me a lot, but it’s very fun when it does ^^
I also find there’s some real borderline stuff when I’m falling asleep but not quite there yet, when dream imagery is surfacing in my conscious mind. That is to some degree controllable, but I’d hesitated to call it lucid dreaming because I usually have some sense of still being awake.
Most of the time, we don’t know we’re dreaming though. Even the weirdest things feel normal and we accept them as they are without challenging the reality of the dream. Gotta know its a dream to direct it
i guess it could be related to how exhausted you are too … i mean if you are completely k.o’d i doubt u would have much control at all.
yea it’s funny you mention that about about when ur just trying to sleep and imagry, because i feel that is when u got the most control over it and u can almost choose what the dream might be about.
im 100% aware of times when i have been sleeping and i can forsee a outcome in a dream im having which i want to avoid that i steer my mind away from it in a different direction.
i’ve also experianced very rare dreams which end up been predictions of things which happen days or week later irl…
they are very rare… and they are like puzzles they dont give you the direct answer bvut if u think about them u can connect the dots.
dreams are cool things a lot of unknowns about it
thats where i will end it lol .

Falling through the floor because i somehow managed to break the game constantly in legion because i reacted wrongly to how you do when you take dmg/prevent fall dmg
I would disengage at very wierd & specific spots on accident and fall through the map
