For some time I thought you could cast Divine Shield on other people.
Back in TBC I bought Plate gear from AH for my Warrior. I had no idea how stats worked so i accidentally bought intellect plate gear. I started to wonder why my health is much lower and after that i started to inspect different stats and noticed that intellect is not something i should be using.

It took me up until like 5 months ago, to realize, that I can right-click pop-ups from loot and such away.

For whatever reason I thought hitting 60 meant you now become untouchable to the world mobs.
Celebrated hitting 60 by running into Andorhal, to enjoy my new hard earned invincibility, only to die a couple of seconds later.

Oh! Maybe I can remember same happened for my hunter as wrong bought mail with intellect.
It was for shaman 
Uuh I die so unbeliiiievable often to fall damage because I like to have auto dismount activated and fat finger/muscle memory spasm cast buttons.
As an Engineer! I theoretically have parachutes! 
I thought Ragefire Casm was the Outlands when I first started playing back in 2007 
I tried the free to level 20 option, created a Blood Elf and once Iād hit 20, couldnāt find anymore quests. I didnāt know about the translocation orb, so made a few attempts to escape the zone via the portal to the Eastern Plaguelands, with predictably poor success.
I quit in disgust and didnāt return for years.
My everyday is noob story, everyday I can become just bit better at something in the game 
I used to get in such a tizz about stats, do I need this piece. is it an upgrade. My first character was so badly geared I was laughed at. I downloaded āPawnā and have used it ever since. (I still donāt really understand stats)
i did this on Twiluna when i 1st started playing in legion, i was leveling in Dreanor, joined a Hellfire citidel raid and rolled need on everything as a hunter xD got kicked halfway through xD
WoW was my first mmorpg, I had no idea about the classes, my friends asked me to be a Rogue since there wasnāt one in the guild. I had no idea what I was doing.
It was Wrath so eventually I found the DKs really cool and wanted to be one (I was on my edgy phase I guess) So I played that rogue until level 55 which unlocked the DK I thinkā¦
In all this time I NEVER USED STEALTH. Had no clue about poisons and I also mixed my gear with intellect and agility because I thought that would make my character smarter and faster on combat xD.
More than a decade later, I still have no idea how a Rogue works, but at least now I use stealth.

Mythic raiding with no addons.
Thatās right. For some unknown reason, I, as a brand new player somehow found myself in a mythic raiding guild 1 month into playing Legion. I went on to raid with them for the better part of Legion never installing an addon, not because I didnāt know about them, but because I considered them as cheating 
To this day, I have no idea how or why I was invited into this guild while previously having 0 raiding experience. But, eventually they showed me why addons were necessary and why they werenāt really cheating.
Back in mid TBC when I joined. Rolled human paladin in Elwynn, stayed there until lvl 11-12-ish and by that time I started to steamroll the elwynn lvl 8-9 mobs so I felt powerful.
Went exploring and thought Iād just ācross the river hereā to kill a wolf. Said wolf had no level but a skull- icon and proceeded to oneshot me.
When I released spirit I was at a place I never saw before (Duskwood GY) and spent too long getting lost on the way to my corpseā¦

Better than what I didā¦ my belf was happily leveling in the starting area, then got far enough she strayed into Silvermoon and promptly got lost.
Imagine rage quitting bc you canāt find the gd exit facepalm

1stā¦I was asked to tank a dungeon on my warrior, had no idea what a tank was but still gave it a shot with a 2H sword in arms spec 
2ndā¦Someone asked why I was wearing a palladin helm on the same warrior and I replied ābecause it looks goodā didnāt know about strength, intellect etc. 
Ouch, I did that once 
For some reason, i dono how or why, But i thought warrior was the only class, so first i made an undead warrior and then i stuck with the tauren warrior until 60.
When i was very early in the game back in 2006, i needed on the cloth shoulders from SFK because i simply did not have any shoulders yet.
The group had to tell me that warriors donāt use that.
I also remember doing hearthstone out of BGs

I only had the old original manual to teach me to play, ended up getting spirit enchants on a rogue

Hiding for a week because I thought Iād stolen quest loot, not realizing everyone got the item
